Also passing of all team mates would affect % field goals made for any player.
A number of passes can be made on an offense and the aim is to get a good shot off uncontested.

Others have mentioned opponents defence, tactics, experience of the player.
Im also thinking gameshape might influence performance on court including shots made/shot streaks.

In other words there are many many factors that affect whether a player makes a shot, not just JR !

Two things are true. 1 - JR is very expensive at the highest levels and 2 - Successful team performance is a balance of all these factors and skills discussed. A good manager will weight these up and use judgement in deciding what level of JR is worth it.

whether a player makes a shot from long range, depends on a lot of factors.
1. Is he capable of making his own shot?(Driving + Handling)
2. If not, does he have a couple of guards around him to give him good passes(Passing + Offensive flow)
3. Is his defender capable of stepping near the three point line and defend him?(Perimeter defense)

I think these are the main things you look for if you want a true %. Ultimately, the level of jump range just boosts or lowers the outcome of 1,2,3. It is however important, but i think once you get it to 12, you should be fine(Just a personal opinion)

Speaking about the player that I've given as example he was lvl 16 driving and handling (only to complete the info about him)

Exactly I think so. So at the end JR over a certain level is useless or even worst due to the salary?

I think JR isn't worth it because of salary, but if you can have 2 players with great JR on your team, this means you are very unpredictable regarding tactics.

Also FG% is affected heavily by tactics. Best tactics for high JR guys is Run and Gun, Patient and Motion (in that order, I believe).

My experience comes from a player I bought last season, his stats are:

JS 14, JR 12
HA 11
DR 8

When playing Outside ISO, Look inside and Low post, he performed much worse than my first SG (who is now my 2nd SG because of that guy):

JS 12, JR 8
HA 11
DR 12

Driving made all the difference. They both have passing 4.

I was playing the first guy in Outside ISO, Low post and Look inside and he had horrible FG%. Then I started playing him in Patient and Run and Gun. You know what? He started shooting around 45-50% and became my top scorer.

So now I have one half of the team that can play Look inside and the other who can play Run and Gun. And when I don't know what to do, I just play Patient/Outside Iso, leaving my opponents wondering about tactics I'm gonna play.

Oh, and the guy I'm talking about is Jesus Molins Segovia: (5736098). It's true he received a boost in FG% because I never played against better teams than me (I'm 11-0 in my league), but anyway.

I think so that JR is necessary to play outside but what I don't understand is the level of JR or better to say, which is the best compromise JR/salary, personally I think lvl 12-13 but I would like to have also other opinions about it ;)

i would also like to chime in something that doesnt affect you in this instance, but i discovered it recently.

I cant post a link to the player, because he is on the transfer league, but when i was looking for players to buy, i came across this player who had AWESOME stats. like. unbelievable points per game, rebouonds etc etc etc. His levels were good, but not overly brilliant compared to other players that I was looking at.

I suddenly realised, that the owner of the player had been playing 4-5 players all season, maxing them at 48minutes, and so this guy was getting really inflated statistics.

In this instance, it was the way the owner was playing his players which caused such different statistics.

anyways, point of the story is that, along with every other factor that people have mentioned, there are sooooooo many other different factors in the game to say with any confidnence - 'JR valeu of X = 3pt shooting % of Y'. its one of those stats whereby you just have to say 'more is better'.

I agree. For example, look at this guy from my league:

(11994617)

35 PPG in 40 minutes of play and previous season, 39 PPG in 35 minutes of play with only Average Game shape and 16k wage!

Other facts: Owner always plays Patient and surronds his scorer with scrubs. It also helps his top scorer averages less than 1 assist per game, so this makes him a ballhog. There you have your Carmelo Anthony.

haha

I totally agreed with that comment based on just watching Carmelo, but just checked his stats, he has a career average of 3.1 assists per game.

Was quite surprised really
