I thought we were talking about a struggling DIII team tanking into IV. Now you apply that to D I teams tanking to build dream teams for the B3. Surely you see the difference!

I would think the money value between divisions % wise would still allow you to buy better players to either train or progress your club. I must admit I didn't look at the Division we where talking about, my bad.

Right is not a popularity contest!

Tanking can be good for a team in any division. However it is much too early for a team in DIII to tank. But taking can still be good for him. If he goes 0-6 then there is no reason for him to attempt to complete while tanking will make much more money. But its still way too early for him.

I agree to disagree. IV to V? Negligible at best. III to IV? Somewhat impactful, at the expense of wasting time.

No it isn't. You waste 1 season in losing. Waste another season of competing in a lower division with no guarantee that you would even make it back up. So all up, it might be more than 2 seasons to get back to where you started.

In that time, you saved 1 season of good money but that second season in the lower division means you make jack all.

I don't get why there is a obsession with tanking!! Its boring, distorts standings, wastes everyone else's time and really with the transfer market being low, even if you are the worst team in the division, within 4-5 weeks of being in a higher division, you would have saved more than enough to buy 1-2 players that would make you competitive at that level.

^^Agree.
I think many of the people who tank are basically bored with the game and want to take a break and then start all over again. If you love the game and enjoy playing it, there's no way you're going to put yourself through 2 seasons of boredom. (unless you have some sick ambitions to conquer B3)
Just my opinion.

It might be dull, but at least it's not guaranteed to be effective.
