All of those bunch of reasons why are the same - "Scandal", "Death", etc. are all the same "Carreer-ending event".
Like two pointers could be described as a two-handed dunk, a mid-range shot, etc.
In this flash game it is not realy interesting what have happened, but what is the result.

The idea of "Carreer-ending event" is a very good one.
Users/BB-managers should be planing for unexpected events and to respond to one as fast as they can.
This is part of BB-managing, and this is why we are all part of this game - we want to experience the world of BB-managing.

Personally, I'm not quite sure what to think of this. I agree with you guys that yes, this would make the game much more realistic but if I had trained someone since they were 18 and then they "died" right before they were about to get on the NT, I think I'd be pissed. I'm not so sure about life ending injuries, but maybe they should add some discipline skill so to say, where the lower it is, the higher of a chance the player will get into trouble off the court. That way you would know exactly what you were getting into.

These things happen in real life, but it really does not suit this game. The downside of losing a great player for nothing, to retirement, out of random is too harsh.

Pini, you've got to pick what you want: more user-friendly or more realistic?
Because here, it's clearly not user-friendly...

I think you may not understand what the concept of user-friendly means...

It is like saying that the league-games (for example) are not user-freindly, because the user needs to know when fouls will be make, or something like that.
This feature suggested here is as much part of BB-managing as making lineups and defining what the game plan be.

This suggestion is to make the game more about BB-managing and that is what this game is all about.

Having career ending injuries in BB would not improve the game. Having career ending injuries in real life also does not improve the game, although unfortunately fixing that issue isnt as easy as re-writing a game engine code. I'm pretty sure nobody saw Brandon Roy's career prematurely end and thought, "Good, I'm glad this RL NBA game is so realistic!"
