As said, some would find it a good limitation (like Nickleon), and some wouldn't.

I didn't said something about limitation!You did!
I said that i'm against in tie NT election to give the NT place to a user only because he is candidate on his own country! And i put on the discussion the experience matter!
And also said that i like more the current system where the older user wins in a tie election!
So what is the following argument you wrote at the 7th message on this thread???
I don't thing so that someone want a 10 days player as his NT!Such a player don't know the basics for the game!

You can recognize it as yours upon the exclamation mark at the end of it :D

And what exactly is the line on current message:
i like more ... where the older user wins in a tie election!
This exactly means that you prefer having a more experience user as an NT coach. Exactly what CrazyEye argue against. [With the claim that the older user may be the worse player between the (two) candidates.

What???? Why a candidate will set himself as a candidate and vote for another?
It never happens at any world.

Where did you get this fact? I have been a candidate myself and voted another person. This can and does happen for various strategic reasons, etc.

I think the biggest problem with the NT-voting are connected to the small countries where it is pretty easy to cheat yourself into the position. If only one vote is needed to get the job it is quite tempting to manipulate the voting.

I dont know if it is possible to change the system, but I would like to see a multi-part election:

1. candidates MUST write a speech and present a concept
2. only managers that did that are allowed to become candidates (some kind of GM approval needed)

The county I ran for NT coach this year has now a coach that has never posted a speech (1 vote, presumably selfvote won the whole thing). Two other candidates got one vote each (one speech), possible multiaccounting involved...

Whole election looks pretty shady...

I lost in Domican Republic against a user with 46 days experience and a whopping single vote, too. I guess it´s the normal way of the things to some degree - if the community isnt interested in "help" from a gamepoint view, there is no response to offering it. I doubt that´s a problem though. If there is no interest in voting, they don´t care a whole lot, so who´s losing anything? An NT coach in the end is "for the sake of the nation" he´s working for, isnt he?

I think the biggest misconception here is that the (local) community is the main factor for the NTs.

In fact, from my point of view in smaller countries the managers that own the NT players are among those who have the highest interest in the national team of their players. They should get involved to a certain degree too (very very difficult, I know).

I hope everybody understands what I am trying to say.

Although I see where you are coming from, I still don´t join your position. I don´t want to stress any IRL coincidences, but the economical impact of NT things is too big that the people getting the money should make the call. As annoying as it is to lose an election, maybe a foreign coach trying to get elected should spend more time with the country he´s applying for (outside the NT elections forum and time). When trying to be there as maybe a menthor or someone who is PRESENT, and who offers advice and help (if needed), you will be recognized more and easily get the necessary (two) votes. In addition, small(ish) countries would most likely flourish when getting experienced help.

If you ever worked as a scout or whatever you know that maybe 2 out of 10 answer ingame messages and maybe 15 out of hundred take a look at the forums every now and then, so getting in touch with the users from micronations might not be that easy, especially if there is a possible language barrier. If you are running for NT its not allowed to send ingame messages anyway, so thats another obstacle.

Easier way would be to create a team in that country and vote yourself with that second account (I guess thats "best practice" nowadays in many small countries anyway). At least the increasing numbers of users around start of offseason could have something to do with that (besides grabbing young players from the draft and dumping them on the market).

Its a complicated topic, so I know that there are many aspects that we have to consider - I am not demanding any immediate changes, but we should think about possible changes that make NTs even more fun.
