Personally, I would prefer at least 5 RB on my guards, RB in guards are pretty useful imo.

The reason I think many guards with low RB are able to get lots of rebounds in a particular game, is because there is a mismatch in RB skill, the defender( usually a guard as well ) has lower or same level of RB( since majority thinks that RB is a useless skill that jacks up salary on guards ).

Also, I tend to think that rebounding plays a very large part in winning games:
1. Offensive rebounds create more chances for your team to score( obviously )
2. Defensive rebounds avoid giving your opponent a second chance to score, avoid lost of 2 points while creating a chance for you to score, creating a 2 point, so its basically a 4 point play imho.

Anyhow, these are just my thoughts and opinion, might be wrong :)

i guess rebounding is more valuable when you play against a lot of teams who use a fast pace, and/or you use fast pace yourself because the more shots that are taken the more rebounds there are for the grabbing

it may also be the case that if your guard is shooting more and taking the ball in (drive and IS) that rebounding is more of a complement there (so he can rebound his own misses). this is just speculation but maybe others have more experience of this

i could imagine finding rebounding of more than 7 or 8 useful given the extra salary it costs. and when rebounding is taken to that level you have to ask yourself whether he is more of an SF type player

Are there any well known NT SGs with particularly high reb?

i have a sdifferent theory about, then i believe most people here. The rebounding rating is personally the one i believe in most, i know that the last engine change make rebounding more one on one but i have still the feeling that the engine look first which team will get the rebound and then distribute the rebounds on the team(after Reb skill and position).
Since still the majority of Reb you get extra through better Rebounding guards will land at your C and PF who are naturally the best rebounder in the team. But also three 3 Rebounding skill at the guard spot are mostly lot cheaper then one extra skill at your C.
Maybe just the hope that my players work, but i believe when i forgot to switch the D on ofposition training or before the change in the D was possible that my C on guard spot grab a lot of rebound without a big reduction on the opposing guards.(but the total amount the team get was worse)

i have respectable/respectable/proficient/prominent on my 4 main little guys & trust me game after game it means i still rebound well even when my bigs r playing against opponents with much bigger salaries

for example a recent must win game 4 me against a team with a 750k roster against my 500k i out rebounded him 67-48 despite his monster bigs

him
pf 140k
c 220k

me
pf 110k
c 56k

should have smashed me on the boards right? instead my pg, sg & sf had 30 rebs between them

no way i win that game without the massive rebounding edge

the problem is that rebounding jack up all positions salary, and when the C have to make up for guard rebounding since they have 1 instead of 7/8 it is much more expensive.

i think u can have a lot of reb pops on ur guards 4 every reb pop on ur c

eg a point guard with all sensational primaries & all atrocious secondaries + $32k

jack up reb by 6 to respectable

guard now costs $39k

a center with all sensational primaries & all atrocious secondaries costs $47k

jack up reb by 6 to phenonomal center now costs $96k

7k < 49k therefore reb on guards is cheaper

it is better on bigs, but not nearly x 7 more like x2 so it is more cost effective 2 have rebounding on ur guards
