I believe he means 'Most Improved Player', which certainly exists.
Kevin Love won it last year, Aaron Brooks the year before that, Danny Granger the year before that, all the way back to Alvin Robertson winning it in the '85-'86 season.

I feel your pain. Not to hijack your thread, but Herbert Jones averaged 38.9 points per game (led the league by an average of over 13 ppg), 14.5 rebounds per game (3rd in the league) and 2.1 blocks per game, but couldn't get a single vote. I know my team sucked this season but come on, those are monster numbers, shouldn't he at least get a vote?

Like you said, your team sucked... how can a player be more valuable then the rest if he can't even lead them to a decent record? He didn't deserve a vote, imo.
