First off chilllllllll. Every skill has secondary skills it trains. In reality if you are a BAMF at JS then more than likely you dont suck at free throws. So why do players with a high skill set of JS and IS can literally blow at FT. This game should and is pretty realistic.

Huh, good thinking. I think this would making training a player, which already takes a long time even longer. But that does make sense. .

Here here. More realistic, good shooters hit free throws.

I would do it for JS training only and only like 0.05 pops per week at 18. Small increase that would mean a guy training 10 levels of JS would end up with average FT or something.

It is funny that you seem to be trying to cast a negative image by saying that I'm trying to argue with someone, when arguing with me is all your post does. ;)

I'm not arguing with you. :) It's just that your tone sounded a bit aggressive (anti-whining tone hehehe) ;)

Training in the game is completely artificial, so the notion of "common sense" or "in the real world" aren't that valid of arguments.

I agreee. That's why we should strive to make those changes so that BB reflects real life basketball as much as it can. Yes? ;)

Training choices are one of the many strategic/tactical decisions a manager has to make. Many people already don't train free throws, claiming that it just isn't worth it.

I'm not talking about training FT choices. That's completely different matter. I just like the original idea. BTW I value FTs and train them when I can (and stamina) and my players have high levels of stamina and FT. So I don't complain, it's just that I like the original idea.

Peace ;)

In reality there isnt is player at any level that has a nice JS but sucks at FT. Why cant JS partially train FT? What about a change? Any suggestions?

absolutely no change needed. With cross training you are sure to get a rookie with atrocious FT to at least to a decent sub-level(worst case scenario). This is not reality, this is a basketball manager. Yes, they do struggle to make it realistic. But still, why not just use the season break and all star break to actually train free throws. if a guy has 3 or 4 in FT he is actually not a bad free throw shooter(according to the GE), so I really don't see why this needs changing

I just looked at my league and NBA stats. Here is what I found.

Best Team in my league FT%: 0.842
Best Team in NBA this season so far: 0.826

Worst Team in my league: 0.669
Worst Team in NBA: 0.669

12 of 16 Teams are in a range 0.700 - 0.800 in my League
25 of 30 Teams are in the same range in NBA.

Free-Throws are fine in this game. And so realistic as you see.

Btw, one thing to think about...

Best Team in our league in 3Pts%: 0.258
Worst Team in NBA: 0.301

Ok, it might be, we just dont have right players in our league. But still. Then average is below 20%, something is really wrong with it.

This game hates three pointers and if you actually build a team designed to be outside based then unlike the 2/3 zone which does nothing, the 3/2 zone really hurts your three point percentage even more.
