I think it's these first games aren't so important. Most important thing is to hold on in a cup as long as possible so you can be competitive at the end of the season. Looking at the ratings, Utopian Unicorns seem to be the strongest team currently but, for example I haven't played my first squad yet. Looking forward to see what we can achieve.

It's probably more important for the road teams who would lose a lot in the first game attendance.

Yeah, exactly. Road games are must win -games if you want to keep your attendance high, especially at the beginning of the season when no one has much money. And if you don't have very wide material (which I assume no one has), you just have to try and win cup games and away games.
