Something like 60 bids before this admittedly crunchy 35 years old SG with 7k salary (10867677) just changed hands for 72k
:-D

I have to say, this huge liquidity in the transfer market for affordable garbage leaves me sort of clueless at the moment. Great fun.

If only the game had Hattrick's feature of turning a player into a coach!

I have purchased 2 coaches, 2 ok trainees and a decent old Center and have over 100k to spare. I have probably bid on 100 different players during that time but I can not believe the money that GMs are spending on crap.

I figure its best to wait until Saturday and buy my last player or 2 when all of the crazy people are broke.

I have tried not to get sucked into overpaying, but it's awfully tough. Seems like you did pretty well, Dean.

I have spent 50K on arena, bought two old players for a combined 57K and bought two coaches for a combined 8K, both Basic. I couldn't imagine sticking with Minimal, but paying as much for coaches as players seemed silly so I stuck with Basic.

$181K left, so I feel I've done alright.

Although I've aquired a few players I dont think it was a good idea to play Utopia in the same universe as the "real" leagues. After the transfer prices were pretty stable over the past seasons this stupid Utopia spending on mostly old players we probably will see more fluctuations again also for other players.

The higher prices paid for players should be offset by the ability to advance in the cup.

There are plenty of teams that are going to go the other route which is to wait it out instead of looking to advance up the ladder.

I'll join the people waiting a week or 2 before buying trainers... when the chaos for trainers dies out a bit.

I'll be rocking the 4.7k salary basic trainer for at least a week or two, so as to get at least a slight boost above the minimal trainer but not have to spend the ridiculous rates guys are going for now. Finding players to build the startup team has of course been a greater challenge, and doubly so for potential trainees. But I suppose if you jump into a pool of sharks you can't really complain that there are no easy fish left to eat.

The advantage of having no initial players that are really worth training. I'm probably just going to stick with the minimal training and train FTs for a couple weeks until the prices come done. Luckily for team training the level of the trainer doesn't matter.

I don't mind the inflation in the player market. But the staff market is ridiculous!

I bought level 4 trainer for 148k, salary 15k. Also bought level 4 doctor and pr- manager for 1k. Staff salary 49k a week.
For trainee's for me "starter" and "star" potential are fine now.
Hope to go far in Cup and use that money for stadium upgrade.
