I'm amazed that you guys can keep buying and selling players. I haven't been above $100k in funds for at least a month.
I only have 2 players being prepped to sell, but they're not good enough to make above 100k. They're 43+19 and 43+22 TSP.

Well i'm at 26k now. I decided to put off arena upgrading and saved untill I hit a million in saving which I did a couple weeks or so ago not sure. I bought that 25 year old to be the starter while my backup have to be train to start. I had too many trainees at pf so I fired one bought the 25 year old maybe keep him untill the backup is ready to start. I also bought that shooting gaurd so my backup can be trained properly.

I haven't been above $100k in funds for at least a month

What have you been doing arena upgrade?

Honestly guys, if you are not focused on promoting, you should go out and buy 3 guys with MVP+ Potential that are 18-19 Years old and fit your style of training and play (Big men or Guards). Train them up to be the base of your team while you are staying in D4. That way you are not paying out large salaries, you are training for your future and adding 3 valuable assets, and you are banking money. Constantly building your arena is a great plan, but don't break the bank. Run a $50,000 project at a time. I have been consistently slowly building on my arena the past 2 seasons using only profit, mostly from Cup Victories early in the season. Im also sitting on over 3 million in the bank right now, but I do not touch it. I will need it for some D3 upgrades, but mostly for my run to D2. I have been at this since season 12. Took a couple seasons off and just let my team ride for a while training 2 guys, but focusing on 2-3 great trainees until you are ready to make your move to DIII is the way to go.

On the training part, you only need an advanced Trainer to efficiently 1 position train. 3 trainees that each play 1 game a week for 48 mins at either PG or C depending on what you are training. Don't focus on 1on1 in the early years, you will have plenty of time for that when you are making your push to the upper divisions. Focus on OD and Pass for Guards and IS and ID for Bigs in the early years. It is not a sprint, it takes time, but in order to build in this game, you will not be successful just building with the transfer list. You have to train efficiently and add pieces around those players to navigate the financial constraints of this game.

I've gotten really lazy. My team is coasting on the backs of two players right now and I'm sitting on $2.4MM and building.

I can't win a promotion this year and even if I do I don't have the talent to not get immediately demoted. So I'm just sitting and waiting for the right 2-3 players to show up on the transfer list.

Sounds dreary to me, but at least you have a nestegg. I sold a draftee for $6m which is the equivalent of winning the Buzzerbeater Jackpot. That shiny coinage lasted me most of the season, but I'm down to <100k.
I spent most of it on an exceptional trainer (fitness) salary ~40k, some MVP trainees, and some inside guys with Proficient or better Reb, ID, and decent IS/FT.

My income is around $30k/week ^_^
