Just sold for nothing 4 34yo players...I'm just crying right now, lost millions and 4 players who help me win the championship...

Great decision for small nations with fewer top-level prospects. One additional year of usage makes a huge difference to us!

Much appreciated!

Luka Modric - 39 - one of the best midfielders and important piece in UCL conquest
Thiago Silva - 39 - best defender that season
Pepe - 40 - important piece of international and national competitions

Sorry to pick you out among the Lebron lovers but it was easier. How many players under 35 are playing less well than they were? As js8 said, a few examples are outliers. The overwhelming majority are deteriorating before 35. So I dismiss those examples.

As for the lack of warning, what did you all expect? I've been pointing it out the last several seasons. You're not going to get warnings any more. It doesn't matter how big the change is, how massively it will change the economy of the game? None of that matters. All that matters is that there must be change. It doesn't matter if its good or bad, and it certainly doesn't matter if its ever been discussed or even thought through.

What a joke.

"Average player declines at 35" factoid actually just statistical error. Average player declines at 33. LeBron Georg, who is immortal and will be playing until he's 1,000, is an outlier and should not have been counted.

Most of my thoughts have already been covered:

* Changes should be announced in advance, and preferably a forum discussion as well to come up with additional tweaks to the idea that might not have been thought of.

* If it's going for realism then it's a miss. On the NBA stats page it says there are twelve age 34 players, and it's fair to say none of them are close to their peak. Guys like Draymond, Harden, Butler, Klay, PG are already declining. When you look at NBA players above 34, only about 6/33 are still solid, the rest are barely playable. And that's players still in the league, there will be dozens no longer good enough who are playing abroad or retired.

* Ignoring realism - primes in BB do feel short, so I don't mind finding a way of extending it. But perhaps there was a better way, for example having a slower decline from age 34 onwards. We'll see how it plays out.

Btw, not so long ago the deteriorating age in BB used to be 33 and it changed to 34. I don't remember how much notice was given at that time. Do someone remember?
