this is a discussion that has popped up several times a season... yeah some people say paying 25k a week for the whole season which is 16 weeks or so is a good investment. I dispute that. 16 weeks times 25k is 400k. So far have ended 5th or higher in my league and my draft picks have been quite rubish. How higher you end up on the table how less likely you will get the better draft picks.

This is a topic I doubt people will ever agree on. Partly because every clubs situation is different. You have to try and find what is the best solution for you.

Good luck with your draft and your managerial career.

But if almost everyone in your league is new, so that he/she couldn't put much effort in scouting you might have s good chance to pick the best prospects.

no you dont... because you can only see a certain amount off players and even than it is just to give you an idea. I have scouted players in the past that hadd 4 or 5 stars and ended up being rubish. maybe i am being unlucky who knows.

you are right pointing out another possible situation. I estimate there are a billion different possibilities possible when it comes to team situations and on how much or perhaps not at all to spend on scouting. There will be a billion solutions. The guy is asking a clear answer and there isnt any. That is my opinion, i am sure even there people will disagree on that...

Guys, here's my experience.

Last season I joined and the season was over and the playoffs were almost over. The guy before me spent maybe 150k - 200k on scouting.

I got some good picks. After some training here and there (not that much training) and with a bad trainer most of the time, I sold my 1st round pick for 624k and my 2nd round pick for 300k. With taxes deducted I made a bit over 850k from selling these 2.

And I drafted middle to end of my league so I could've made even more if I drafted earlier.

Anyway it all depends on your league, your position and your luck you know. But I honestly don't think it's worth paying 40k a week or whatever.

Honestly 10k a week should definitely be enough. Cheers!

Will scouting conducted over the next three weeks go towards the draft before Season 8 or towards Season 9?

Thank you captain obvious. Ever heard about averages?

You are clueless, man. Season has 14 weeks. No matter when scouting starts it still ends at the same time next season so I wonder where you could get those 2 extra weeks :roll eyes:
