First of all, I don’t personally see the need to merge countries. There are better ways to make the game more challenging.
As said here several times, the best would be to establish an international tournament where all countries can participate….not only micro-nations. Teams paired up in groups based on their WR. This tournament can take place beside the national leagues.
Regarding the national Teams…..yeah….that’s reality….Austria is a small country and in real life also we have problems winning against the big nations. Honestly, it wouldn’t be realistic if Austria suddenly because of merging teams wins against USA….sorry but that’s a fact.

Looking through the posts my new suggestion would be:

a) Merge all teams into different new leagues based on number of users in the approx timezone. It may be a lot of leagues in some zones. How many teams in each league, I don't know. Enough to fill at least 4 divisions, maybe 5. Each new team signing up would join the closest time sone group with fewest teams. This would make it more foreseeable to predict if more leagues would have to be added. Put players in divisions based on their world rank. After some seasons adjustment time, teams should start to end up in the division that corresponds to their skill level via promotions/relegations.

b) Let everyone keep their flag, and keep the national forums and NTs.

c) Draft works as it does now, attributes, age height, scout reports. But the player name and flag gets generated after the pick, defaulting to the team that drafts them. So if I am in a division with random nationalities within my approx time sone, all my draft picks would be norwegian because my team is norwegian. We would get the same amount of active players into the game, but there would be fewer bot teams, and they would not have a specific flag anyway. Like it is now in Norway, the only ones that get a chance at an early draftpick are the bottom teams i BLNO (div 1). A supermerge would give us equal chance as any team, since we would get competition and a real chance at promotion/relegation. If you try playing in a small nation, you would quickly get bored. What good is money, when you have no competition to use it for? I am too old to play a game for tanking.

d) Make all players in a nation easily searchable for the NT/U21, draft players from all leagues with that nationality, and players that gets generated when a new team signs up.

This gives everyone competition. Everyone can still be active in the same communities for different countries that we have now. There would be new forums for each league, and our current div forums could be replaced with new ones in the new divisions.

This way all nations, micro and macro, are at the same level. Everyone have to mix. Everyone compromises. Win-win or lose-lose.

That could be a great decline for some teams, from Div. II down to IV. or even V. Imagine u trained ur own draft for 6 Seasons, 100k salary which is not really much in Div. II., and now find urself in Div. V, forced to sell ur player u trained 2 RL-years. The consequences for the BB-Economy would be unpredictable, given the fact that thousands of teams would be affected by this shift.

I think all teams should stay I the division they are currently in after the merge. If the new merged leagues more than 16 D1 managers, there needs to be multiple D1 leagues and some creative relegation after the first season to get one league.

People may spend more in the short term because of the increased competition but in the long run there will be less d1 leagues and less d1 teams and less money going into the economy.

And this is exactly why it matters to the big nations as well as the small

As Senegal NT coach, i'm not really "hot" with that idea. Senegal is not a big country but we have a little community with a project.

Senegal has about seven active managers. It's great that you're having fun with little projects and goals you've set for the Senegalese NT and I'm sure everyone involved is appreciative of what you're doing, but it's kind of selfish of you to oppose a change to micro-nations in order to keep that going. You're not the one who has to play in a dead league and country.

Hum, I may don't understand your answer. Selfish? I just show you that it could work in micro nations. Before trying to merge micro-nations, I think that there are a lot of better solutions to improve the level. I talked about saving good potentials drafted by bots. What do you think about that?
I only talk about NT and not leagues of course.
