Wow! Day 1 of the playoffs really shook things up! Both TnT and Orko came up with big wins as #4 seeds and honestly I think both of them should be favorites to make an all #4 seed NBBA finals.

1. No offense to the Red Pandas who has won a playoff game in each of his first 2 seasons up here, but he looks to be badly outmatched against Angel and Co (I mean seriously, look at that DMI (33305750))!
2. No offense to myself who just won the Cup, but I look to be badly outmatched against Bliss and Co (His #3 DMI guy is about what my #1 guy is) and I mean where do you even start trying to gameplan against someone nicknamed The Ginger Casanova (33457721)?

I'm just glad I'm at home because I don't lose a lot there but I think it's an uphill battle for my guys on Saturday. GL to everyone still in it!

there should be a buzzerbeater phrase or description for a manager whose team underperforms through the season and then puts it all together for the playoffs -- "snake in the grass"? "Lazarus"? "Alien"?

anyway, congrats to the Iguanas for manhandling my squad -- that hasn't happened since . . . the last time i played the Cacti. fantastic game, phenomenal defense, very impressive -- if you look at from the perspective of someone who is not the home team.

good luck against Dunkface. Should be a great final!

Well done to TnT. His team had tremendous game ratings. Ha, get it?

On one hand, I feel sorry for Eugene. I know what a gut punch a loss like that can be. But on the other, Orko has been dedicated to training for several seasons now and it's nice to see teams like his have success as a reward for giving us players like Aubrey Bliss.

Good luck to all the teams still playing for something.

Well, I guess I'm glad nobody wanted to buy my guards that I've been trying to unload for the last couple of weeks...

I was pretty positive that I wasn't getting out of the the first round, given my record vs Eugene! Once I was locked into the #4 spot, I thought I'd see if I could get a money boost from people who actually had some hope of winning their matches. But there was no love for Skurbe or Limbeng at the middle of their TPE.

I did keep looking over at the Big 8 and daydreaming about what it would be like to have HCA in the first round, though!

Unexpected victory, for sure! Now I just have to arrange for the Cacti fall into an arroyo or something...

Thanks man. What a turn of events for me. Just only a couple weeks ago, I was hoping to move up a notch to avoid fighting relegation on the road, slid into the PO on the last game of the season, and now I'm in the semi.

I like Dunkface's optimism for the road teams in the next round but it sure doesn't feel that rosy on this side of the fence.

Most of the season I have been thought I have a solid tier 2 team that can consistently make the playoffs but has no chance of winning a finals. After the opening round, I still think that but I'm not sure who the tier 1 teams are.
