Hadders is the quiet achiever. A low weekly players salary and getting some excellent results and a bit unlucky not to have another win or two.

I don't see it. Besides the win against the tanking me he has one win so far for the season. While the cup is on it is always possible to get a random win while teams try to juggle three games a week. If I wanted to be above him on the ladder I would be, no doubt. The problem is coming 6th or 7th in the Great 8 isn't good enough unless you are Pancakes and can drop a few million on "rentals" at the end of the season to beat Zazz or DFBS. So right now it is a brutal war between HA, Hadders and maybe Pancakes to get that critical 5th position. I would strongly predict whoever ends 6th or 7th in the Great 8 gets relegated unless it is Pancakes.

I'll bet Koopasaurus is glad this wasn't the situation in his first few ABBL seasons when instead he was the one getting the free ride. He would be long gone. But this season he earns respect for doing the real work himself!

Hadder is hoping for 6th and vs me but thats going to be a dream with the roster he has now. Besides, pancake has no problem grabbing 6th and win relo series.

So are you saying south brisbane vultures will be in my position and i'll be lingering in div2 atm if I wasnt so lucky?

true it may be a free pass, but i still had to work hard for it and take the opportunity that was given to me. no such thing as a "free ride"... but i must admit, it is getting tougher by the season.

Brisbane Vultures had 11 wins that season and that's quite amazing comparing with present. that usually would get you out of relo series. Koop tanked most of the season and got just enough wins to be 7th and happens to win it. may this be a lesson for people like Zazz. there's no point trying so hard since iwen already taking 8th. just worry about saving money and win relegation series.

Yes SBV had 11 wins in the ABBL and was a real team. You had three wins for the season and only avoided the auto-relegation because HP Tigers went bot (and gave you two of those three wins). Then in the relegation series as we all know his best player was injured two minutes in and you had the best game of Wazzas career and you somehow won by two points. You had already made millions that season thanks to HP Tigers then that triple stroke of luck allowed you another season in the ABBL where Adam decided to tank and Canberra Crushers went bot allowing you yet another season in the ABBL.

Yes you had to "work hard for it" and "take the opportunity" but if not for multiple teams going bot in the ABBL, SBV losing his best player two minutes into the biggest game of the season and that heroic two point win, you could well be sitting in division II on 6/3 like he is four seasons later.

Lets not even discuss how you got to the ABBL in the first place. We need a new word to describe you, "lucky" is not even close.

I am not meaning this to be an attack on you. You are a smart manager (I have seen you make a lot of brilliant moves and outsmart your opponents constantly; as you said you put yourself in the position to have the luck), a quality person and someone I do admire in this game but you have been given the second biggest gift I have ever heard of in Aussie BB, after adams guns draft of Jone Bogan at #32 and selling him for an incredible $ 4 161 600.

hahhaha i dont take it as an attack... im just pulling your leg. =P

im just just trying to emphasize those famous words " victory loves preparation"
i had to be prepared and plan for for the situation to be able to take advantage of them when it arises..

ive made some brilliant moves and outsmarted some great opponents, but ive also made a lot of silly moves also.. mainly in the CUP games lol.. but at the end of the day and you can fail ten times, but you only need to pass once to reap in the big rewards... thats why you never ever give up!!

HA would be better off if they were spending 200K a week less on players and wasnt worrying about training.

Playing a couple of the better players out of position for training minutes isnt winning HA any games even with the 600k a week players bill

If you know this, why are you continuing on this road? sell a few and be happier with that extra 200k. Life don't have to be hard you know.

So concede 5th spot and save up for a relegation series against yourself or Zazz?

Bit sad but the reality of this game is that its a lot less work and expense to buy ready made champions than what it is to train them

Well it wasn't like that a few seasons ago but guys that used to be worth $2,500,000 are now worth $500,000 or even less. It is only the truly well balanced and trained players that are perfectly crafted which have kept their value.

It took about 8 seasons of training to shape Pedrosa.

Its true HA wouldnt have received 2 lots of one million promotion bonuses without him, but on todays market Id be lucky to get more than 3 mill for him.

A team could save 3 mill just by tanking a season in the ABBL
