Just re-read this thread and realized that McCoy called it on the steroids. Why is this guy not our NT coach?

It annoys me very much when people say this. Its not as if he's taking credit for what the Packers are doing. And is it so far-fetched that fans would consider themselves somewhat connected to the team, since the team exists to serve them? Particularly with a team as community-oriented as the Packers.

then we are both equally annoyed. It annoys me very much when something we are fans of we somehow think we are now actually a member of. Following the Rolling Stones on tour does not make one a member of the band. I consider myself completely connected to the teams I love, but would never be so presumptouos and self involved to consider myself an actual team member. Just because a Bud Light commercial implies you can alter the course of a game by how you hold your beer bottle doesnt make it true. I respect your right to be annoyed, as I also continue to be.

Ok this is the first time I've logged in for a couple months, so this is a severe case of thread bumping, but I had to respond. I'm not sure if any other people know this, but us as fans own freaking shares of the team. Now I know it's not millions of dollars, but my family as well as my extended family have quite a large amount of money invested into the Packers, which is why I speak from that perspective.

Interesting spin. If you and your family never spent another cent in support of the Packers, what effect would that have on the team?

Thats not the point at all. I'm merely pointing out why I speak from a personal perspective. We own a portion of the team, making us "part" of it. But if you're the 2nd coming of "CoachSchoolYou", I'm sorry I wasted my time responding.

Well, if you are continuing to try to sell me that because you dont want to be just a spectator but an actual participant then you can keep trying different takes on why you are a member of the team, then yes, you are wasting your time. You are free to view yourself on any pedestal of significance you like. I am going to stick with my belief that buying a ticket and a hotdog doesnt make you a member of the team. Buying a ticket to the Rolling Stones concert doesnt make you a member of the band. Buying a ticket to see Argo doesnt mean you helped make the movie Argo. A spectator is a spectator regardless of how insignificant that makes some people feel in relation to their fervor.

I appreciate your respectful, well versed response. However I would continue to say that owning stock in a team(as my family does) elevates you above the average cheese head in the stands.

Fair enough. I do know what it is like to absolutely love a team. I have my favorite team's logo tattood on my forearm and go to 20+ games a year (baseball)

I will sleep on the Pats gladly. The D is not going to improve on last season, no Wes Welker, TE's are both now injury prone, and other teams around them are getting stronger. I dont see anyone getting past Denver and Houston in the AFC and I dont see anyone getting past the Falcons and 49ers in the NFC. But anything can happen.
