Decided to post this on this thread since a few people got angsty with me for making a new thread about the rondo thing. Anyways NEW BIG TOPIC:

Rudy Gay Traded to the Raptors

The Memphis Grizzlies have traded Rudy Gay to the Raptors in a three way deal and this is what it looks like:

Mem Gets: Austin Daye, Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince, and a 2nd round pick

Det Gets: Jose Calderon

Tor Gets: Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi

Do you guys like love or hate this trade? Personally I really liked it for Toronto and Memphis but Detroit doesn't really need another Guard, so I guess after this season Calderon will be moving to somewhere else. Any thoughts?

Winner:
Memphis - Unload the terrible contract of Rudy Gay and acquire Ed Davis (PER 18 and 23 years old) and some lengthy outside shooters (Prince 42% 3pt and Daye 52% 3pt). Davis gives them the flexibility to move ZBo next year if necessary. Do they even get worse this year? It can't be stated enough how poorly Gay has played this season relative to his contract.

Loser:
Toronto - Unloaded their best player and prospect (Davis) for a huge contract with minimal production (Gay 15 PER on the season). At best this is a wash for them, at worst it ruined their rebuild and put them on a treadmill. Maybe someone can help me see their side better, though.

Undecided:
Detroit - Getting rid of Prince's contract was nice, and they coveted Calderon, but they now have a backlog of PGs. Stuckey, Knight, Bynum, Calderon. I am guessing Stuckey and Knight will play SG mostly, but this could mean another trade is coming. Calderon - Knight - Singler? - Drummond - Monroe may be a serviceable lineup.

East
1. Heat
2. Nets
3. Pacers
4. Celtics
5. Knicks
6. Atlanta
7. Bulls
8. Bucks

West
1. Thunder
2. Lakers
3. Clippers
4. Nuggets
5. Sperm
6. Grizzles
7. Mavs
8. Timberwolves

ACTUAL
EAST
1. Heat
2. Knicks
3. Pacers
4. Nets
5. Hawks
6. Bulls (5 and 6 could change)
7. Celtics
8. Bucks

WEST
1.Thunder
2. Sperm (1 and 2 could change)
3. Nuggets
4. Clippers
5. Grizzles (3,4, and 5, could change)
6. Warriors
7. Rockets (6/7 could change)
8. Lakers (not set yet)

So people were riding me about not have the 6ers in, well gee look, they're not. The also laughed at the Nets being 2nd, well the finished 4th, so that wasn't that bad either. Actually had the East just about perfect. The West, like most people was a bit off. Kevin Love's stupid hand really screwed that predection up. Again, Irk with another lack luster showing. Happy to see the Warriors, ahead of schedule.

Second Team:
Ric Flair Drippers
I know its all predictions, but lets see

West
- Lakers going #1 after losing all preseason games? Perhaps, since its only preseason, but they r old, don't think they'll go all out til POs
- Nuggets at #3? Above the Spurs? I dunno about that, think they'll be on POs 4sho, but much lower
- Griz and Jazz above the Clippers? Clippers at #7? Way underselling them, think they'll be one of the best teams of the West, deep team
- Warriors making it to the POs? I doubt it, even though I love them, the team's still pretty bad

East
- Hawks at #2? Highly doubt it, even though the team is good
- Knicks could be #3, but I still think they won't be too dominat, prolly more like #4-5
- Hard to guess Bulls' position, it all depends on when D Rose comes back, if it's feb or so like they said, they could be even lower
- I think the Celtics, 76ers and even Pacers and Bucks will finish a bit higher. Think the Celtics will be top 3 as long as D Rose is out

@ laker quote: and LA has a problem

@ Warrior quote: surprise surprise

@ Knicks: #2, way underestimated.

@ Cs: um, they lower then you think

Let's go Knicks! The only team to beat Miami in a season series 3-1 by 10+ pts. I think this is Melos year. All he needed was the team, now if JR gets over 19 points per game, this could be a tough team in the playoffs.

Well my team, the Bucks, have a certain slogan that couldn't be more true...

8TH SEED OR BUST!
