Tsk tsk, wasting valuable company resources.

Hold on, my boss is asking me something.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

I'm quite sure I've never said abilities didn't matter to me... however I have said that game shape should be a deciding factor between choosing 2 players of similar ability.

That's not exactly what you said. The two things you said were:

-The U21 should play guys in proficient game shape because they perform way better than other players. When others pointed out that there was no player with high enough talent that fit the bill, you said it didn't matter.
-You would purge the NT of any players who are constantly in bad game shape (even though there was no evidence of any such players).

In any case, I'm glad that you've seen the light and see that game shape is only one factor to look at when setting a line-up. ;-)

I think you missed the point I was trying to make, which is that I wouldn't play players with weak game shape while their is a better option on the bench (i.e. a bench player in much better game shape). As an extension to that, if a particular player was consistently in bad game shape (e.g. injured a lot or overplayed by his club team), then I would leave them off the team in favor of a player that's next on the depth chart and consistently has strong game shape or better.

I'm quite sure I've never said that those are the only factors for setting a line-up, but little things can decide games at the NT level, and I feel that it gets overlooked and under-appreciated a lot more than it should be (which is why I brought it up in the first place).

No, I got your point.

My point was that there was never a situation that you've described above. I still have yet to see a concrete example from you demonstrating all of the following:

1) A player consistently in bad game shape on the NT or U21 team.
2) That the manager did nothing to address the situation.
3) Even if points 1) or 2) were true, that there was a better option out there for the manager.

So either you place way too much value on game shape OR you were trying to create an issue where there was none. I chose to believe the first point but if I'm wrong I would be interested in seeing your concrete examples of poor management (addressing points 1,2,3 that I mentioned above).

Cristophe Tassé had only this to say about the escalator accident. "There's a reason god made stairs first, 'cause moving stairs is just wrong, man. Just wrong. Don't do drugs kids." He quickly broke down in tears. It's also a little known fact that Tassé stays away from the stepmaster at the gym, possibly contributing to his slowed training.

This is great stuff and made me laugh.

PS I can't wait until next season when I will be done training Wendon. Then he'll actually be able to play at SF for the Stingers. He loves to play but is tired of my coach playing him at guard.

I don't really read too much on the NT but i learned where everything stands with it, plus I got a lot of laughs outta it. Great job RiP88, I will definitely read another one if you make one.

P.S It would be nice to have one for the U21 NT [;)]
