It annoys me very much when people say this. Its not as if he's taking credit for what the Packers are doing. And is it so far-fetched that fans would consider themselves somewhat connected to the team, since the team exists to serve them? Particularly with a team as community-oriented as the Packers.then we are both equally annoyed. It annoys me very much when something we are fans of we somehow think we are now actually a member of. Following the Rolling Stones on tour does not make one a member of the band. I consider myself completely connected to the teams I love, but would never be so presumptouos and self involved to consider myself an actual team member. Just because a Bud Light commercial implies you can alter the course of a game by how you hold your beer bottle doesnt make it true. I respect your right to be annoyed, as I also continue to be.

Ok this is the first time I've logged in for a couple months, so this is a severe case of thread bumping, but I had to respond. I'm not sure if any other people know this, but us as fans own freaking shares of the team. Now I know it's not millions of dollars, but my family as well as my extended family have quite a large amount of money invested into the Packers, which is why I speak from that perspective.
I appreciate your respectful, well versed response. However I would continue to say that owning stock in a team(as my family does) elevates you above the average cheese head in the stands.
