Well, that was the 4th Quarter Prayer of this thread. It misses, so, let's see what BBs do next week. Please BBs make another news announcement that states about tanking. Please!

I haven't read all of the posts in the topic so I don't know if this was posted.

I am against tanking and it's in my opinion illogical.

It's obvious that teams basically survive by selling tickets. If a team tanks a game, or two, three in a row, why would anybody in the world buy tickets to see the game that's not even happening? And over and over again. Fans should acknowledge that their team is tanking (by losing games 0-25 or coming out with a way weaker roster than the league's average roster) and simply stop coming to the game. Tanking should be punished, not encouraged.

Totally agree. Fans that gets to see a game against lucky fans should be refunded to in my opinion.

If that woud actually happen to me in real life --and I am not one the lucky fans playing the game-- I would demand more than just to be refunded. I would also demand extra free trickets for future games.

Probably in better seats than my original ticket.

up, if I were a fan of a team, goes to the game ,and sees 2 scrubs in there and the other team with like, 11 players, and they call a forfeit, I'll be like this; %*&$#%^@%( @(^#^$_@$

The signs represents cuss words.

Exactly. That was my point. We can fight tanking with logic.

A team forfeits, fans get furious. Will they show up to the next game? No! Will they ask for their money back? Yes.

Only one forfeit is enough to besmirch a team's whole season.

Here's what I would do about the forfeits?

A home team does it -- no income from tickets sold, attendance drops drastically in the future.

A visiting team does it -- they have to refund the home team's fans from their own pocket. Attendance drops.

I would like a fine like this too;
D5; 75k fine
D4; 100k fine
D3; 150k fine
D2; 200k fine
D1; 300k fine

That'll hit em hard where it hurts.

Tell that to the people who watch managers tank for seasons and then win it all several times over.

Tanking and the whole concept of trying to finish fifth instead of fourth are both problems, to be sure, but those are symptoms rather than problems unto themselves. If it truly is better to tank than to compete honestly, and if it is better to finish fifth than fourth or even third, the answer is not going to lie in punishing those who tank or who finish fifth, nor necessarily just giving rewards to those displaying preferred behavior. What needs to be fixed is the underlying economy itself, and while actions affecting tanking may well improve the game, more focus needs to be dedicated to finding the real root of the problem and coming up with real and effective solutions to that.
