Of course SF with good OD makes a strong 3-2 zone, and a SF with good ID makes a 2-3 zone even better, but I think that, when thinking about using a zone defense against a nornal-focused offensive tactic, the ID of the SF is important if you want to use a 3-2 or 1-3-1 zone defense, and the OD is important when you use a 2-3 defense.
It's like that, because, when choosing a zone defense against a Push the Ball offense, you are focusing your defense in one side, while your opponent is shooting from everywhere. So, in that case, you need to have guarantees, or you will lose the game, for sure. That's why you need a very good defensive and rebounder Center when running a 1-3-1 zone defense, and that's why you need a solid and balanced SF.
