I loved the idea of the salary of the player be influenced by his market price. I think this would help solving the problem of over-salary players. The amount of times that the most expensive players in this game have been sold is too high and I think that this system would balance their salaries and make them more affordable for the biggest teams and consequently making them fight for the player in the future and not only for the Cup finals or Playoff finals.

About the other ideas I'm not so sure, but is a good starting point for discussion.

In general good suggestion Wolph

a server hiccup may mean that you may be able to luck out and end up with a player at a bargain salary for the next 10 seasons or so. Absolutely unacceptable.
This could be solved by introducing a blindness period before the end of the auction, for example 8 hours before the deadline new maximum bids are stored by the system but no longer displayed. Therefore it would not make sense any longer to wait for the last minutes of the auction before making a bid. Which other problems do you see?

You understand this doesn't really change the situation, it just changes the location of the potential hiccup. It will always make sense to bid in the last moment, whether this is the "last moment before the deadline" or the "last moment before bids go blind".

The same problem is bound to occur in multiple different situations: the game economy has both a cycle and a trend, and I don't think replicating those issues into salary is the way to go. As in, it is one thing to be able to spend less on a one-time lump sum payment, and it's completely different to spend less on a weekly basis for the same type of player. The second one has a much stronger effect. While the suggestions are not without merit, it will be difficult (to me: next to impossible) to implement this system without introducing unwanted competitive imbalances.

Ultimately, the idea behind all of these is to have an economy where the best players are paid top dollar and teams can afford them. This was also the idea behind the salary calibration that was introduced several seasons ago. While it's questionable whether the calibration is appropriate or not, the best players in the game currently cost about 90% of the income of a top division team. Technically speaking, it is possible to build a team around such a player by picking cheap role-players off the market -- though I guess what matters is that no-one has really tried to do it, so those guys still keep going around.

I've seen those guys going around. But somebody is still paying for their salaries, right? Or do they bankrupt every team that happens to have them on a Monday? There are many other threads in this forum filled with people complaining about daytraders and "rent-a-player" Cup games. I think the tools to keep the game fair are already there. They might not be realistic as in "Real-life NBA", but they are there.
Tradeline? BuzzerBeater makes money also by having users logging-in everyday and maybe clicking on their adds. A tradeline would keep them away from their computers for a while. It is better the way it is, with players not being able to play in the playoffs if they are bought too late in the season.
There's also an agency fee as high as 25% of the player's market value. You could buy a high-salary player to try to win a mid-week game, and then sell him before you even have to pay for his salary. True. But you would still lose 25% of the money you paid for him, not to consider the fact that if he gets injured you're never going to sell him that week.
The possibility of an injury is too high of a risk, I think.
Although, I've seen 450k-a-week players playing in division V.
Now that makes the game a little weird.
Should the salary be affected by the amount of money he was last traded for? Nah.
A player salary already depends on their market value: I've seen excellent players, with relatively low salaries, selling for a lot more than better players with higher unaffordable salaries. If you make a player salary go down just because the player was bought at a bargain price, then there will be a much higher profit for the team next time the player will be sold. A daytrader's dream come true.
I've heard of people wanting to put a cap on each individual player salary. I mean, if a player salary is so high that no team would want to pay it, then the player might just not play anymore. But as long as he is wanted, I guess it is fair for him to be around.
Still, I don't see who's paying for his salary on Monday. Somebody, please, let me understand what this fuzz is all about.

So having to pay contracts leaves me no option to get rid of the players when going into bankrupcy? The transfer system in BB is the best there can be atm, everyone can bid on a player if they want. With trades comes easy cheating. You are trying to create a whole new game.

you nailed it here.

i understand the idea's given here, but if we start including trades, then their is no way to see when a certain group of friends are really trying to boost one team...

The TL system certainly isn't perfect, but including trades makes this game impossible.

the only option for trades to be allowed, si that each trade suggestion, would have to be submitted somewhere, so that a GM could approve it before the trade happenes. hte only problem then is that the GM's main occupation will then become approving trades, which ofcourse would take alot of time, and it would still not be sound proof.

so for now, keep the TL as it is now.
