to play 2 - 3 zone your PF and Sf have to have good outside and inside def. they are both guarding from the lane to the 3 point line in the corners. Depending on the opponents offensive tactic it might not rebound well because your pf and sf could be out near the 3 point line leaving just your center rebounding.

I dont know if the defense isnt working right or most teams just dont have the team to play it. I usually just man to man.

I normally use 2-3 and have a 21-1 record. I also have good rebounders though for my Div 5. But I hate having to look at the fact of my awful (high) perimeter defense. My semifinals opponent uses motion. Should I change to 2-3? Should I risk a 1-3-1? Or should I stay with my 2-3, because I have good enough outside shooting where I usually have a respectable rating.

This brings up the next question. I have been playing with Princeton for a long time, but have a inept (medium) flow. My opponent uses FCP. I worry that this could affect me. I am clearly the best/2nd best in the entire league (I bet the other person on Crunch time, but lost the next game after that team used crunch). I don't worry about losing but don't want to make any mistakes. What should I do?

don't play 2-3 zone against a regular motion team. As in... ever. 3-2 zone should work better, but plain old man to man could even be enough.

If he's constantly playing FCP and your teams stamina is good, try to play a fast-paced offense (for example, run and gun). You'll risk less turnovers that way (not in totals, but clearly per possession...)

The only is my team has poor stamina. Other than my pf, my sg is 2, SF and C 5 and PG 6. I don't worry about my offense as much considering how high my outside scoring is as my defense. Thanks for the help.

Few seasons ago 2-3 zone was good zone , like others. I can tell you that then I used 2-3 a lot of times. But from few seasons when changes in BB was introduced , 2-3 zone was broken. U can see that on high lvl of games in BB almost nobody use 2-3.
For example look at BBB. Almost all teams use Inside tactics to win games and only few users try to stopped them by 2-3 , but they fail it.

Thats right. It pretty clear, the equation for inside shots involves the variables: passing + driving + inside shot + jumpshot (depending on how far from the basket).

The equation to stop inside shots involves the variables: inside d + shot blocking + a small bit of outside d.

A SF with really good driving and inside shot gets a pass from a high level passer, that is 3 mutipliers against a static inside D + shot blocking.

This happens 3 times, guarenteed 1 or 2 times, the shooter gets a foul and two fts. In my opinion, the driving multiplier is too strong. Its the easiest skill to train. You get level 15 driving on a guard with level 10+ inside shot, and there arent many SF in this game that can stop that guy getting a level 14+ pass and scoring (or getting the foul).

The second problem I have with look inside is that, those teams still get up 2/3 3's a quarter. That is ideal for ANY offense. But when you have the benefit of attacking inside, drawing fouls, and still getting up 3's, it simply makes look inside a tough offense to stop without throwing money at with with 1) a bigger look inside or 2) big time shooters.

when the new engine was introduced, all people was acomplaining that it is impossible to attack inside, it takes quite a while till they was a the point that it is still working(now they say even the opposite!), maybe you should give the 2-3 the same credit because for me it is working pretty well.
