a top D I team make abut 600 a game now 2/3 is 400 and 1/2 is 300 you are talking abut a 200k loss overall from the playoffs for a first place and even less if you are not a top 50 team in the world

Ok but this was not my question, how much is the loss relative to the annual team's salaries ? 50%, 25%, 10%, 5% ?

How much is the loss that is going to tempt top teams to tank ? That's the claim of the post I was replying to. It looks a bit extreme to me, let's check the numbers.

The best regular season team in division 1s used to get 2/3 of at least 650k per playoff game. That's around 425k per home playoff game. The best team plays 4 home games and 1 road game if he makes the finals (which is often the case). With a 50/50 split the best team will get around 325k per playoff game. That's 100k less per game leads to at least 300k in losses. That's essentially the same as the losses the 4th ranked team had compared to the 5th placed team in the past. So in the end the problem hasn't been solved at all, it's just been passed to to the top teams that will suffer a major blow.

Don't get me wrong, this is valid for every division not just division 1, just the scale is different. 1st place is financially the new 4th place.

The top teams will tank because they won't have the financial incentives. You will have teams now paying relatively low salaries, making the playoffs as the 4th team in the division and buying a few monsters before the playoffs. It will be harder for the top teams to beat these type of 4th placed teams because, basically they will essentially need to pay 25k less per week on salaries to achieve the same balance. It's not the same having a 100k player and a 75k player. It will cost you games.

Additionally, from personal experience i can tell you that top teams tend to make calculated risks in order to be able to win as many of the league+tournament games as possible. Now, i don't feel it's worthed to take those risks at all. I can just tank in the league and concentrate on the tournament.

50% paying salary on the 5th place is a really nice change, less tanking.

But the thing about 50/50% money from PO game (they said its just for the 1st game in playoff, I hope it will be so) is really bad, I don't see nothing good here. Someone get 50% of money on my arena and I deserve to play home.
This change is just made for those less good managers, for all good managers this change is 0/10.

If it is 50/50% money during the whole PO, then this game becomes epic and I don't play League more, just Cup, so sad..

They get out money from people who deserve it during the whole season, nice..

Unfortunately, the top teams are the ones who will take a major hit in order to "solve" the 5th place tanking issue. And yes it's for all of the playoff games as i understand it. It is true that a lot of top teams might try to play the Tournament (Cup) now and disregard the league.

Nice ruin for the game, most of top managers from their country will quit.

Now on, for me their is no League more, I just play the Cup, so sad what BB is trying to do, they punish the top managers because they are good during the whole season, and give their 17% of money to someone who don't deserve it in the season.

I have an excellent idea for those new changes, on the way BB is going on, I would say it would be nice to punish a club who win the 1st League with -500k.

I hope a BB will give me an answer about this thing.

New motto of BB: "Destroy the good managers and take their deserved money away"
