I'll never forget the best doctor i saw was at uni - his name was Dr D'eath ! With that surname i think i would have chosen a different career like cage fighting, or stunt man :)

I doubt Dr was actually his first name, they probably only called him that because he was working as a doctor!

@Eminence: Awesome performance against one of the best teams in the world there! Should give italy something to think about.

:D Apparently they didn't think about it enough :)

If anyone is interested in putting together an official game report it would be much appreciated.

Unofficial game report -

It was a night to remember. It is days like this where history is written, re-written and then put to song only to be covered 20 years later by a Justin Beiber lookalike who has less talent than the sum total of the American idol rejects show.

We knew it was going to be a long night when Gully stepped into the chat area and was greeted with a silent stare worthy of top honours at the undertaker of the year convention. It was 24 Italians to him, he knew it was an uphill struggle and yet in true English spirit he stood his ground. The battle for text supremacy was almost a forgone conclusion, but after calling for reinforcements, I joined him in the fray and with our use of Google Translate, we were sufficiently able to provide the kind of Rosetta-stone Italian linguistic prowess the fans were calling for. Arguably a 3 year old could have communicated our greeting better, and realising that the responses to our attempts at hello were not met with the anticipated friendly replies, we took to the translate button. To say they were hostile would be kind, they were more akin to a transcript from a rated blue B movie classic from the 1970's, so we retreated to the sanctuary of the England channel hiding behind our impregnable walls of ignorance.

Happiness turned to joy, joy turned to ectasy and ecstasy turned to euphoria as we realised the impossible was about to happen. England had pulled victory from the dentures of a half demented Italian pensioner and we were there to see it! Generations will sing songs of this moment!

According to the Italians we were lucky, I agreed that this was probably the best way to describe it not because it was true, but because this will mean we will be underestimated again!

Admittedly we played normal against their TiE but that was not their mistake. Pride came before a fall and fall they did, in true Biblical style, David had felled Goliath. The stone swung from the deft arm of Eminence had found the sweet spot. The game swung on a vastly higher foul rate and much more impressive rebounding from the English. Hats off to all the players, teams who worked on GS and Eminence for balancing the tactics. It was an all round true English performance worthy of the archives.

Well that's a write up Morwood would be proud of! Vecx great one, i hope you take the opportunity to write some more in the future :) you made me chuckle.

Ezio! Primadonna! Fusilli, Spaghetti, Tagliatelle! Thats all the Italian I know from my playstation and pasta addictions ;o) and interestingly our inside force made the Italians look as spineless as spaghetti ...

So we played with higher enthusiasm but it was a good win nonetheless. i bet it would have been very close on the same enthusiasm.

Congrats Eminence on pulling off a magnificent "Italian Job". cant wait to see how the rest of our games go

Yes, very nice job Vecx. Must admit it had been a huge relief when you joined me. Silent Italians are scary. I had one eye on the game and one eye on them.
