Deliberately meaningless index as someone said above. A bit unfair name if you ask me as i also use it to compare players performance.

It's true that DMI is, more or less, skills*shape?
How do you compare player's performance with DMI?

Having looked closley at it I can tell you I;ve had a player in 21 NT with most skills the same as an other but lower gameshape and primary skills higher. It is a ok guide to give a very rough guide about players but that would be all its good for. It's like watching a highlight real of someone playing. Gives you an idea but do not base much on it.
