They had different defenders.
Patient is looking for the biggest mismatch. One game it was for your player A, another game it was for your player B.
Also if you have a relatively equal squad, then patient will not bring this "magic" distribution in terms of shots, it will be more spread out.

If you need some sort of guide lines for reverse patient:
- unbalanced squad set up works best (so you have one really good shooter and the rest of the team is just average)
- you assign your best shooter to C which "potentially" will cause the biggest mismatch (usually C has less OD and so your JS + JR + DR combo can shine)

Dumb question: I still do not understand why it's better to use patient and not other offensive tactic. What happens with other tactics? Yesterday I used it with motion (I forgot to set the tactic on patient) and it worked not too bad. What I'm missing? Why Patient is the best choice?
Thanks

There is no "one size fits all" offense which is the best to use in every situation (although iirc apparently according to the BBs in the olden days, base offense is supposed to be the best).

Just that in some situations, patient works better. Especially when you have one player with much higher JS/JR than whole team. It also gives you a fighting chance against a team who is way more superior than yours (tho you gotta hope that you catch em with the OD mismatch and they don't have 2 post players with high OD).
