cheers man, you were beaten by a good team. Aussie has amazing game ratings . DFBS can't even generate that with a more expensive roster.

Yo! Yo! D for D best PF in D Aussie BB. D Name is Kye Duffill (10080211), averages nothing but pure amazing! Vote for Duffman!

Scary good ratings from excellent value for money players.

Aussie if he added a couple of top line players to that squad, would have an excellent ABBL team.

Bad luck Vios, let me know about China Im suppossed to be going over there myself in the next few months

Sitting my hotel now somewhere in Pingshan (in Shenzhen). Not a lot of white folk around here and English isn't a widely spoken language. Thankfully my room has a PC and a net connection, which seems to accept Mandarin and English (phew).

Lots and lots of big tall buildings. I've seen whole cities full of nothing but skyscrapers all one height, very freaky. People really don't mind staring at the two white boys strolling around, very different to what i'm used to.

Constant cars tooting out on the roads, seems to be a standard way to communicate when driving. Blinkers are also used in a similar fashion.

Lunch today was fantastic, though I did enhail my first bit of food which just happended to be spicy as hell. Spent the next min coughin my ring up, make that a special note to self. Don't breath in when about to place spicy food in mouth.

It is so exciting travelling around the world. Did I ever tell you travel is one of my main hobbies? Did I ever tell you about my visit to Mainland China? (I have had two trips to Hong Kong.)

Being brave, adventurous and incredibly stupid I decided to go on a holiday to China, in winter, speaking no Chinese, with no tour, no contacts at all, no plan, no itinery and alone. I did have my copy of Lonely Planet, a credit card and a couple of hundred dollars of traveller's checques for emergencies and about $200 of cash.

It went well at the start. I took public transport from the airport to the youth hostel where I planned to stay (bus, train, train and a long walk all with no Chinese) so I was feeling very proud. Checked into a private room in the Hostel and all was good. Went to an ATM the next morning to withdraw money...uh oh. Card destroyed by evil Chinese ATM.

Now I was alone in China with very little money. Turned out to be one of my best holidays ever. Sure I had to eat a lot of two-minute noodles, walk a lot, stay in dorms in youth Hostels, try to get places by local transport when I couldn't read any signs (I would hop on a bus heading in the right direction, if it turned I would get off, walk back to the corner and take the next bus continuing the right way) and eat a lot of things I would never have normally tried. But I had a ton of amazing experiences, I touched a giant Panda, visited the Shaolin Monastery, ran along the Great Wall (I was told there wouldn't be time to reach the top so I ran and had heaps of time), saw the Forbidden palace, walked on the frozen lake at the Summer Palace, saw the Terracotta Warriors and stacks of other things.

I hope you remember to be adventurous, the Chinese are very helpful and there is so much to see and do.

Sounds amazing, Im off to China in late March for work.

First trip overseas for 23 or so years.

I have no expectations of being able to see any of the touristy things though

Not a bad effort by Mages to get 3 of the top 5 in the MVP including the winner.

Unfortunately I was unable to see any of the tourist attractions as our factory/office is in Pingshan, which is basically and industrial city. The workers come from their home towns, live in dorms near their factories and only head back home once a year for holidays during the New Year celebrations.

I was lucky that there is one Aussie up there who made sure I was well looked after and he even speaks relatively good Mandarin. Was very different being the minority and seeing how people reacted to the only two white guys in Pingshan. Some not so friendly and some honest shocked reactions from the locals. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and took in as much as possible. Great to see the people I work with in their own environment and put faces to names. Apparently it is likely that won't be my last visit!

One important lesson learned, watch out for ganbei baijiu... Your stomach will feel like you were drinking battery acid for a couple of days after. Ganbei meaning "cheers or bottoms up" and baijiu being the Chinese wine. We went out with one of our suppliers for lunch and if the host offers you ganbei, it is rude to turn it down (or so I was told...).

Would love to see the attactions you mentioned above and I'm sure one day it will be a likely thing. HK was amazing flying out at night too, have to see it to believe it. The airport is equally amazing but somehow extremely well organised and easy to navigate.
