Now that the crossover matches are over, and cup basically over, what are your odds for the ABBL title?

That is a really tough question.

Ive sort of unexpectedly fallen into top spot without really aspiring to achieve it.

My primary objectives this season were to avoid relegation, train & save money for an assault on the crown next season.

The curve ball I was intending to throw was myself unloading Camelo after the AllStar week and then falling into 4th or 5th spot whilst saving an extra 120K a week.

My intentions are now quite the reverse and I am hoping to make a couple of major acquisitions either next week or the week after.

My window of opportunity may well be this season as a few of my players are going to jump a bit in salary and a couple of others are going to age a little more, thus making the task actually harder next season

Hard for me to give odds so I guess I will leave that to others to do so, but I do concede that if I can hang onto top spot and make a couple of acquisitions then I guess that I could well be favourite or equal favourite

The business end of the season is still to play and I cant predict what Aussie or Koops or others might do and who knows what injuries will occur.

Also it should be noted that unlike Koops and Aussie, I am a complete novice when it comes to competing in the finals, at this level of competition

You have 172 scouting points remaining. Choose the amount of scouting you wish to do this week.
The more scouting you do, the more information you'll have about prospects in the draft

i guess if there is i can find it

but North Carlton Cavaliers have worked hard 2 get the #1 pick (party)

Will be an interesting end to the home and away season as Id imagine that both BrisVegasSpurs and BLS would be keen to avoid a relegation series against the unpredictable cashed up carp.

Any scramble to avoid the cashed up crazy carp will undoubtedly have an impact on the make up of the final 4 in the Big 8.

The auto relegation spots in both conferences appear to be both settled.

The final 4 in the Great 8 also looks close to being settled unless Koops goes on one of his famous late season runs.

Aussie Pride is still flying under the radar as he continues to play Schneider and Mahurkar as PGs

Edit

Add Ants to those teams in the Big 8 that is buying up and showing signs that they are intent to fight to stay in the ABBL.

Glad I played him last game and not in a couple of weeks time

Just looking at the salaries of some teams, it's a very interesting read on things.

Those most likely to play in the playoffs;

Aussie Pride $ 865 838
Yarra Park Bears $ 732 082
hopelessly addicted $ 730 904
High School Drop-outs $ 696 911
Stone Slashers $ 668 173
Chelsea Seagulls $ 659 469
Urmummas $443 729

ave $685300 or $725562 excluding mummas.

Teams battling to survive;

Pancakes with Jam and Cream $ 973 988
That%s How You Get Ants $ 897 525
Koopasaurus $ 835 285
Black Label Society $ 771 236
Persepolis Immortals $ 748 855
BrisvegasSpurs $ 739 814
Guanzheng Goldfish $ 556 192

ave $788985

Rd 17 sees pancakes play koop before their cup match but this could be massive for both teams come end of season.

I believe that the News function on Buzzerbeater is not working correctly.

What other possible conclusion could one reach after reading that Urmummas has paid $175,000 for an 18 yo superstar?

Maybe he misread his age and thought it was 38?

ohh yes, 38yo 2k salaried players are all the rage atm
pretty obvious with the recent sell off and this purchase that next season will finally be my last in the ABBL for a while, i've said it many times before but now ive actually gone and bought some youngsters and for the first time in a long time, paid for a trainer, so i'll try and rake in what i can while i still can and in the process hopefully train up some half decent players. continually buying geriatrics just wasnt cutting it anymore

Best of the luck with your plans.

No denying that you have achieved great success by winning the tournament and surviving as long as you have in the ABBL.

If you stick to your plan you will obviously fall out of the ABBL at the end of next season, but I sincerely hope to see you back in the ABBL with a couple of trained up Aussie youngsters in the mould of Smeltz and Duffman, in 4 or so seasons time
