Pfft, bugger the battle for the championship. The battle for a top 5 spot and being certain to avoid relegation is much more interesting, in both conferences.
Ants seem to have given up, so can put them down as being relegated, bar some crazy moves.
WA and Guanzheng have tanked, and will get 7th and 8th in the great 8. But it will be interesting to see if either one makes a splash later on to secure 7th and get a relegation series, rather than autorelegation.
In the big 8, Brisvegas are in 6th, but seem to have semi bought up again, and now have the 3rd highest salaries in the big 8. With their recent purchase seemingly a well rounded SF, they could be tough to beat.
Persepolis with about 700K salaries and sitting in 7th look pretty vulnerable. But they've shown a propensity to buy up in the past, so who knows.
Vios have a solid team, but are only one game out of the relegation series zone at the moment. I'll back them to stay up, but with their last two crossover games being against the top two games in the great 8, they are going to face a fight if they want a top 5 spot (which I expect they do!).
I'm a couple of games clear, and have a pretty decent draw in my remaining crossover games. But a slip up in those games could put me back in the danger zone.
And then there's Stone Slashers. Three games clear at the moment, but with his propensity to randomly forfeit games, plus having a player on the market which, if he sells, could make him vulnerable in his upcoming games, are they safe?
The final spot in the great 8 will be pretty interesting to. Urmummas occupy it at the moment, but with his million dollar roster, I doubt he wants to stay there. Both Chelsea and Yarra Park are only a game clear, and would probably be feeling a bit nervous.
This is where the real battle is ;)
