I think that it's a little of both. When I first started playing, I thought the same thing about players with HOF potential. If someone had explained to me at that time the difference between an 18 year old HOF compared to a 25 year old, then I could've made better decisions early on.

The way potential is displayed is faulty because it leaves a large percentage of new managers to misconceive it's importance in certain players. I agree with Big_Dogs; it's both a flaw and a lack of information.

I don't think new managers should be able to make bids (or maybe just higher bids) on players for their first few weeks or so.

im not sure dionysis will enjoy having to wait an additional week to swindle some poor newb. na, just kidding, he/she rips off older teams too. ;)

potential is confusing for existing and new teams. might be good to take a look at that feature to see how to make it more intuitive.

I'm going with quality over quantity.

I joined in the middle of Season 20. I won two consecutive promotions. Now I'll be playing in the finals of III in Hellas (which is 8th-9th in users, so not a micronation or something like that).

I made my mistakes. But the knowledge of the game is here, in the forums, there are people and tools to help you. I learned from my mistakes. And I believe I'm just a common person, so everyon starts from the same basis. I'm playing for almost a year and never got bored. In fact I wasn't more excited about my team and it's prospect than today.

I signed in other manager games as well. From my point of view, BB has the best depth (not easy, but not THAT difficult). I think its main advantage is the GE which is great. It gives a manager many options to build his team. Just stick to a plan and follow it, you'll get rewarded sooner or later.

Does it need changes? Hell yeah, both in its functionality and its marketing. But 40.000 users is a great number. In fact, 20.000 users would be a good number as long as they like it and stick to it. Managers that want to be satisfied by their teams and not want to win no matter what.

Dugout online (which is the best football manager game) has 13875 registered managers and no one is complaining. You know what? They DO tell you not to bid in players or coaches you can't afford. And yet, it has 13875 and BB has 40.000.

Always money...

I think it's a NT trainer punishes players in the game's economy. If you give special training ( pg position train center), you can loss the game...
Why punish this?

Enter propose voluntary season goal 2 categories

1) I train NT player

a) aim for the champs title
b) aim at obtaining the Po position
c) my goal is to avoid relegation

or

2) Do not train NT players
a) aim for the champs title
b) aim at obtaining the Po position
c) my goal is to avoid relegation

On First category would be less than half the number of attendance fall than at present.
The player's link is supposed to send ( trained players)
Required to achieve a certain salary growth season, or transported to the second category on next season.

ps: I losing one away game, but attandance decrease 3500! This is mistake... 50k decrease 1 week money, too much
I want train NT player without financial punish.

What do you think?

Great post but I think even this might be too complicated.....Maybe something like the training site has.
example: MVP (26-28) meaning cap space points, and then give the number where the player skills are right now. So maybe something like....Yellow Cake age 27 MVP(26-28)(11.24) Even a newbie would know that this player would never reach full POT.
This would even be good for old users....I know three seasons ago I didn't do my homework and bought a capped Superstar. After I bought him I went to the training site and it said...Superstar(26-28)(27.69)..I was very sad.
