Had a god look at Steve Crocs set up and game last time out, he has a good team like everyone knows.

Think I have settled on how I will play him, a few surprises, shaking things up a bit, but I need to win. hoping that the home court advantage will get me home.

I need the extra money, so hoping to go into the final series with a full 3 games :-)

good luck Holtz

he is a master tactician. Well played Crocs!

I know that I am most exposed with run/gun but didn't think Crocs had the team to really smash me on run/gun (as opposed to you), but there you go. His second big man is a huge help for inside d.

I hope i can deepen my roster a bit next season. have at least shifted the age balance so won't need to sell anyone for next 2-3 seasons, so that is one thing that came out of this season.

some cracking games ahead. holts you are the man, but we siad that last year about someone (DT?? maybe) and Adam's Guns went up!!

Also, Jenkins - good luck wherever your team ends up. Was very brave of you to discuss your bipolar in the forums (and you too Koop re the MPD), so i hope everything works out for you - team, job, women. Look us up for a scrimmage next season. you have come up to div II before so can do it again.

until next season everyone...

Congrats on the season that just ended for Yarra Park and Battlers, Slammers and Razzle.

2 very tough games coming up. When it is all said and done either of the last 4 teams left have a good shot. Downtown had a big scare and will go all out next game, as expected.

Big games for the chance to play for a position in ABBL.

Thanks

Almost upset DT but lets face it, be a better final series with DT still in it. Which ever team wins from each conf will deserve their spot in the final, so good luck to all remaining. Lets also not forget the RL matches. Looks like Flames will be leaving us, but a cracking match between Kynalla, and Pride, so still be very interesting to see what happens.

Have a happy new year to you all, and I'll try catch up with the matches on sat, but if not, 100% on Tuesday.

Good luck, and all the best.

Just finished my NYE shopping, carton of pink vodka cruisers and 2 bottles of the cheapest champagne I could find (I'm a beer man 364 days of the year, gotta treat myself for new year's eve). If I time it right I'll be passed out just after midnight.

I've got a empty schedule for a while so I booked myself a holiday. My new BB team might be French (but probably not).

Also, don't want to sound un-patriotic but I'm pretty happy Australia lost the Ashes. Ponting is an ass and I hope he retires so I can start cheering for Australia again.

Here is a nice song for you all, one of my favourites:

Must agree with you on the Aussie cricket team.
Hopefully the selectors will have a proper youth policy, and be prepared to give the players a fair go, not in and out every couple of tests.

Ponting was a great captain when he had Warne (arguably the best cricket mind never to captain a nation), Hayden, Gilchrist, McGrath, so on and so on. Now that he actually has to read the game and make a decision based on where the game is and how to make it go where you want it to, he has been shown to be the worst captain Aus has ever had.

Bring on the youth, for any selectors reading this that means players getting their baggy green before they turn 27, more likely when they are 20-22, and play them enough to get confidence.

Have a great time travelling, where ever you go, remember we should work to live, not live to work (easier said than done I know).

Koopasauus VS The Meateors

So the finals for this season has come down to what many expected.

Keen to hear what everyone thinks about this finals series, who will win, who will star, and why they will win. What tactics you think Koops or I should play and why?

Looking forwards to hearing what Koop has to say in particular :-P

the big 8 has been in total disarray recently

thunder was a strong team but had a strong challenge from yarra park and only won by 2, they have $50,000 less of players and just cant match the depth of koop

yarra park is fantastic but left their run late and bled enthusiasm everywhere to position themsleves at the last minute

razzle dazzle should be fantastic but got spanked by everyone recently, think they gave up on this season

goldfish - well in last game if yarra scored +6 or -19 we were in the playoffs, but probably just a sushi snack for koop

the rat probably has the 6th most expensive roster and could be in the finals yet is just streching out the relegation series

kynlala has tanking all season but has one of the top 3 players in the league in nt rep dell'asta

the brick was just raking in the money, they must have made a fortune

that leaves koop

lucky as hell, nothing bad ever happens to his team, well managed, great players trained over the long term to be well rounded and multi-skilled, deep at every position, probably has the dominant guards in this series

it would be great for the big8 to get someone promoted so we dont have 7 nutz teams next season but meateors have a $440,000 payroll, probably the best player in the league in Salvador Jiménez Llanes (5177078), just back from the abbl, 5 seasons of d2 before that, excellent manager, almost their entire team in proficient gs (lucky as koop or been training gs?), incredible bigs, ex-nt player carrington, and homecourt

so in the end i think it will be meaty

If I play the way I did against Crocs, and by that I mean taking out a couple of starters, especially the star, than i should be in with a chance :P

hey I was surprised I won by such a large margin, seriously thought the game would be a lot closer.. well played DownUnder Thunder.

fishy thanks for having my back.. your suppose to be on my side!! anyways its not hard to see who will win the grand finals now.. even a fish can tell...

meteors goodluck to you in the grand finals, i think u got it in the bag, your payroll is too high.. and you have the upper hand in enthusiasm and gameshape... even if i get the right tactics it wont amount to much with that kinda of advantage you have.

hahaha its nice to take out the other teams players but wouldnt u want a satisfactory victory.. with full teams going head to head..?? in my case i'll take wat i can get, so i also hope jeminez or carrington breaks a leg or two LOL

great wins to both of you. the 2 best sides all year and deserve to be in the big one. i am surprised that crocs only had mcnamara play 13 minutes - holtz, you must have been pleased with this!!! wonder what is going on with that decision?

as for tactics, koops - i have no idea what you will do, but as for Holtz, has you ever played look inside? can't remember it ever happening, so am tipping you won't start now.

couple of nice purchases going on which is good to see?

incidentally, does anyone make use of playing their players in a different position on D? i have been doing it at times, and it seems to be quite good. also, looking forward to some of the new tactics such as outside isolation next season. adds a new dimension. all good.
