This season...a full tanking season (and the last) has really tested my resolve I might add. Only Vios's challenge has kept it interesting for me.

Only ever done it the once myself, it was season 20 and it was the most draining experience.

At least I was the only one trying for the top draft pick, which enabled me to be able to unleash a couple of cameo performances that got me the 3 wins.

Draft pick was useless.

This season there is rumours from a lot of the leagues, that good draft picks do exist.

My son used his scouting points today and found a 5 and 5 18 yo in his div 4 league.

Yeah, hearing about many 5/5 picks. Two of them in Div IIs. Tomorrow morning I hope to be the third Div II team to discover such a gem. I'm confident. It sure will make this season worth it. Mind you, I've continued to train Dogan this season, spent nearly a mil on a future NT star and dumped 2 mil on arena. Nothing disatisfying about any of that. whether I find the 5/5 or not it has been a fruitful season. I will have fun in Div III next season as I plot my imminent return! :-)

you're basically being gifted ABBL promotion, erveryone in the league knows you have too much firepower, the only decision for you is how much you bring into the finals.

Akumas actions speak louder than words

175K purchase of a 206K centre

Welcome to the ABBL Mr Akuma, unless ofcourse Duffill was to get his annual injury

Luster is starting to make a name for himself in the aussie scene lately.

All this attention has promoted him into the England NT.

He didnt last long on your squad or on the Winners squad.

I reckon most of these "rent a beasts" will disappear with the changes that will impact their game shape.

In reality the only potential homes for 200K plus players will be half a dozen clubs in the top league of these players respective nations.

I now have to rethink Akumas move which has caught me by surprise a bit

Luster didnt last long cos he is not Aussie, I already have two Aussie bigs that are in the NT. If he was Aussie, I would keep him in a heartbeat. Name me an aussie NT big that can be had for 200k. Maybe Jalajamani, but he is rather detrimental to the team being injured all the time.

I believe you said..and I quote...

it is what it is

To be honest, I was planning on selling up this week or next week..prime time to offload big players to teams making a run for a championship, but your constant forum chatter, your veiled "mind games" talk, and your attempts at intimidating our fellow league players (my self included), you have motivated me to make your attempt to ascend to the ABBL as difficult and expensive as possible :)

I was always planning to tank next season anyway - doesn't matter whether i do it here in II or in ABBL, and I still have plenty of money left in the tank (you guys have grossly underestimated how much money I had banked to begin with, and how much merch I am making).

Consider me a man with a loaded gun and nothing to lose!

I'm fairly happy with the team at the moment, but may buy another 150-200k guard just in case maclean is a little rusty when he comes back from injury.

No apologies from me as I see this as all being part of the game.

Congrats to you if you do go up, and if I have played a part in motivating you to do so, Im sure that you will thank me in time

you have motivated me to make your attempt to ascend to the ABBL as difficult and expensive as possible

Hang on this has been my same strategy, so as to try and stop you from promoting

(Some one actually once tried to make it as expensive as possible for me to buy a player that I wanted and they ended up getting stuck spending 3 plus mill on them)

but may buy another 150-200k guard

Dont let me stop you as I might just do the same

and I still have plenty of money left in the tank

Well you do have 3 home games left, but I reckon my calculations as to your finances and your weekly loses might have been fairly accurate

Consider me a man with a loaded gun and nothing to lose!

Consider me someone with a loaded cannon, who still can afford to buy some more cannon balls and also know that Im some one who is quite experienced in using that same cannon, where as you may very well have the gun pointed in the wrong direction

There are many things that are apart of this game - or any game. Pretty much anything you can do that is within the bounds and rules of a game are "part of a game".

What distinguishes a great player from the rest is the way they carry themselves, and whether they are able to win with dignity and class. You, my hopeless addict, win or lose, have absolutely no class.

Loaded cannon...cannon balls...quite experienced? Right. That's why you had to drop out of the ABBL, spend a shitload of money on trainees, then do such a crap job training them that you had to go whinging and whining to iwen and constantly harass the poor man until he finally gave in and added them to his roster.

Akuma and Sid it is great to see you battling it out, to be honest I don't like it when no-one tries and so it makes me very happy that this season there are at least four ABBL teams with a shot at the title (Whitebeard, Koopasaurus, Goldfish and Aussie Pride).

I hope everyone enjoys the banter as it makes the game a lot richer, I played another Basketball sim which has much, much better graphics and deep game play but I felt like I was playing a solo game. It is the rivalries that make it so much fun, just look at Miami and Chicago they wont even shake hands at the start of games now.

Akuma is rich and so is Sid. Great. Why wouldn't you go for it. Besides the status (and it would be legendary for Akuma if the took Duffman, Smeltz and the rest of the XBB crew to the ABBL) the money is insane. As I said I banked $5,000,000 in my tanking season plus a free season of training plus the top draft pick (was yet another bad draft). Promote, seriously tank, then bounce back totally loaded seems to be a great recipe several teams have used. Or you could just keep the roster you have and actually compete.
