thank you everyone ^^

i might have a good starting five indeed, and be very competitive, but it's kinda useless to win the tournament to be kicked out of the b3 and not being able to even qualify for the playoffs... not to mention that the cup doesnt make up for poor league's results in fans' minds and income are thus very low, so it's not viable...

well, i can't complain i now have 6 trophies

yet sad to see amenra going down after having been close to the top for a while.

Yep, it's strange to see boes and Amenra going down.

And Hall leaving Belgium is strange too, he was probably one of the best players in the league.

On the other hand, we can't hide the fact that BB Belgium is having less and less users. That does not bode well for the international future of our teams ...

we had several good seasons in our international teams. had a world cup participation, some european championship participations. the thing that doesn't bode well is that with the users going down, talent will become more scares and thus prices will go up. And everyone knows how important good belgian players are for the viability of the teams.

we'll soon be competing with eachother for the same players. i've noticed that the past 8 belgian players i've tried to buy have either ended up with Spartans, Ventola, Obira or another BBBL team (tho 3 teams were the ones that took my players most of the times...)

anyhow, i'm expecting some managers to lose out soon. more and more managers are starting to waive in terms of BB, and i'm no expection for that. But each time i'm close to giving up, i find something new. a new challenge. tho i'm running out of challenges soon...

Az~

Yep but sooner or later we'll run out of choices.

I'm really delighted of the relationship I do have with some owners, and this is leading to making some very great players. Guys like Legaye, Remy, Bogemans, Neudt, and so on. Most of them you've probably never heard of, but they're going to be extremely good players.

But we have to be realistic about numbers. I am not raising a full generation on my own, there are perhaps only 6 of them that are truly are world class material. As U21 manager I can raise wonderful players that wil never make it to the A due to a low potential. That's too bad, for some of their trainers are really good and dedicated, and willing to listen to what I would advice them.

@AZ : Yes I know you were targeting Vaes. I'm sorry I picked him up before you did, but the thing is I would have never thought one of the most beautiful outside players of Belgium would be available at only 1.3 M - same for Claeys, I was the only one that bid on him when I got him (1.5 M) and you may be sure this is a truly amazing PF - although several weaknesses in his game require me training him out of position for some time. The only one for which I had a bidding war was Marichal, and I still think that 1.75 M for such a fine (and young) player isn't overpriced, especially when considered that you got 3 M for him one season ago.

I can just encourage you to find a new challenge, why not try to train the best SF Belgium has ever seen ? I have convinced Bogemans' trainer to follow that path, because I think that this lack of people at the SF post is really hurting us, but he could use some serious challenger :) Of course, you have to choose a player whose training will suit Eeckhout's one, but in the end both your team and the country will greatly benefit from that.

About the championship, there was nothing the Spartans could do to stop the cowboys' winning march, and Joe seems to be cruising to (yet) another title. He's still out of my league - for now I like to think :)

In the lower divisions, funny fact if that all the conference winners will be playing each other for a BBBL spot. Which means we'll see new faces, although old acquintances will be back, like FTA or Ganshoren / Tumasstars.

Sorry for the wall of text, I felt like in a communicating mood :p

Thank you, congratulations coming from the best Belgian manager always feel good to receive ;-)
Indeed, actually i wasn't far off, but in "money time" i got 2 players fouled out, and that was the nail on my coffin.
Otherwise, I think I could have secured a win, but... now i'll never know for sure.

Anyway, we surely can't complain, I think i can say our first ever season in the BBBL has been more than satisfying.
It will be extremely hard to do better in the next season, but...you never know...

Good luck to you in the finals, but i don't think you need luck, since you are by far the better team.

grtz,
Eagle

Funny you should mention the SF position, but this is no coincidence.
I always found it very difficult to find a good SF for my team, and in my experience i can say finding a good SF is the most difficult position to find a good player for.
So this is not only the case for Belgian players, but for many other countries also, i believe.

I was scout for a rather long time in Algeria, and they didn't have trouble finding trainers for their SF. And this is a country with approx. 10 times less users than Belgium !

So I don't think it's everywhere the same problem, but of course as SF is the spot that requires the most versatiles and complete possible training, it's logical that there are so few.

Anyway, in Belgium we used to have world-class outside players, now we start having very decent inside players, but promising SF don't seem to show up since Backaert ...

My final post of the season, so i want to start with congratulations :)

First to Tienen and Eagles: #1 and #2 in our conference and well deserved. You both defeated me in a game i was hoping to win. Against Tienen it was the competition game i lost with 4 points: I really felt bad after that loss.
And against the Eagles it was our PO game. Even though it was an away game, i was still hoping to win it.
So congratz! I hope to do better next season.

Also gratz to Mizu for winning the cup and to Vottem for winning the title (yeah, you will win ;) ).

Although i clearly stated this was going to be a transition season with focus on training, i still feel a bit disappointed with my results. I know i've done many weeks of out-of-positioning training and that did cost me. I guess you can't have it both ways in BBBL.
Next season though will be different: complete focus on the competition. My goal is the #1 spot of the conference ... and then to lose the final against Vottem again ;)

Long-term plans: so next season i will put focus on results. Since my team is young enough (except my starting SG) i can focus for 2 or 3 more season on results without having to get much more players.
However, it might get boring: it has already been said here, that managers are starting to lose their drive and will to play this game, Belgium is losing managers. So you have to search for new goals and i can think of several ones i still want to explore. So it might be that in two seasons i will completely sell my team and start with something new.

In short: @Tienen & Eagles: I hope to challenge you more next season. @Vottem: hope to see you in the finals next season :)

I'm sure you will be a competitor to be seriously wreckoned with next season ! Watch out "Deep Sea" Polle is coming to get you !!

On another note, i already pitty the promovendus who has to take the place of Obira Dragons, because he will be in for a DEADLY season and a serious "Bloodbath" !
