Just looking at the salaries of some teams, it's a very interesting read on things.

Those most likely to play in the playoffs;

Aussie Pride $ 865 838
Yarra Park Bears $ 732 082
hopelessly addicted $ 730 904
High School Drop-outs $ 696 911
Stone Slashers $ 668 173
Chelsea Seagulls $ 659 469
Urmummas $443 729

ave $685300 or $725562 excluding mummas.

Teams battling to survive;

Pancakes with Jam and Cream $ 973 988
That%s How You Get Ants $ 897 525
Koopasaurus $ 835 285
Black Label Society $ 771 236
Persepolis Immortals $ 748 855
BrisvegasSpurs $ 739 814
Guanzheng Goldfish $ 556 192

ave $788985

Rd 17 sees pancakes play koop before their cup match but this could be massive for both teams come end of season.

I believe that the News function on Buzzerbeater is not working correctly.

What other possible conclusion could one reach after reading that Urmummas has paid $175,000 for an 18 yo superstar?

Maybe he misread his age and thought it was 38?

ohh yes, 38yo 2k salaried players are all the rage atm
pretty obvious with the recent sell off and this purchase that next season will finally be my last in the ABBL for a while, i've said it many times before but now ive actually gone and bought some youngsters and for the first time in a long time, paid for a trainer, so i'll try and rake in what i can while i still can and in the process hopefully train up some half decent players. continually buying geriatrics just wasnt cutting it anymore

Best of the luck with your plans.

No denying that you have achieved great success by winning the tournament and surviving as long as you have in the ABBL.

If you stick to your plan you will obviously fall out of the ABBL at the end of next season, but I sincerely hope to see you back in the ABBL with a couple of trained up Aussie youngsters in the mould of Smeltz and Duffman, in 4 or so seasons time

aussie trainees are just too damn exxy to buy on the transfer market
dont really care about training up an aussie nt player anymore, as long as they're cheap, thats good enough for me
had to outbid some flaming div 4 reject from some european country just to get my current trainee as it is, an aussie trainee of this calibre, i would say go for maybe double what i paid and simply because he's an aussie

Decisions,

The 2 week injury to my starting centre Camelo raises an interesting dilema.

Prior to his injury last night, I had planned to bring in a 200K plus centre today and run Camelo off the bench, but now with his injury I have the concern that his game shape may not be good enough.

I have 4 danger games to finish the home and away season and technically only need to win one of them to keep top spot.

I dont know whether I should auction Camelo for this coming Sunday night where his injury should have reduced down to one week and save his 2 weeks salary and take my time to find 2 new centres that I can keep, or whether I hang on to him and just hire a rent a beast for the next 4 weeks.

Lucky I still have a reasonable bank balance and 2 home games next week to finance whatever I decide

Im a bit confused with your change in direction.

He is neither 38 yo or 18 yo.

Looks like your back in the chase for a championship

nah
just bought him cause he was 4k
selling off another guy so my total team salary next season should be about 550k based on buzzer manager predictions
140k odd over the salary floor but least that will give me a team capable of a couple wins in the cup
