Spot on, Yuck. And this alone is a peculiar part of the injury situation. It would seem that injuries might typically occur in some other fashion—and incorporating that in the GE would be more realistic. Of course, this would have to be coupled with fewer injuries taking place on fouls.

It would make sense if they occurred in other ways, but of course that would involve BB making sense and, well, yeah. I had a fun time a few seasons back with a particular player who was a notorious fouler as well, and who picked up four injuries in one season along with four foul outs. Luckily, I think two of the injuries were for that game only (one might have even seen the taping injuries specialty work), but the stretch where he came back from a 2 week injury just in time for a scrimmage where I played him to try to recover his GS, only to see him injured for another couple of weeks, those were glorious days. Needless to say, he's a former player of mine. ;)

After tonight, I am pretty sure I hate the Game Day Predictor. My team is not great and has many flaws but I just got whooped for no apparent reason other than he guessed I was going inside?

I think the difference in effort also had an effect, but that was definitely a tough loss. Even with GDP and effort, I don't think that was a "normal" result. But, that's why the game isn't played on paper... kind of. You know, the any given Sunday phenomenon.

I would like to agree with you to make it easy but I don't think it is so. I don't think the BB's did half a shit when implementing this and testing a percentage based modifier in scrimmages was pure genius. A ten percent modifier is rather effect in D4 but that same percentage applied against a D2 quality defense leads to really stupid results. But they wouldn't know that by testing in scrimmages. We as a league have had a dozen bizarre outcomes due to GDP. My game against Pappy is a similar scenario.

I was telling hrudey and TicTacShack this last night, but if you guess right on the GDP 5k scrubs will do really well on defense compared to not using it. I would say correctly guessing both right boosts OD or ID by at least 3 more skill points depending on what you guess. On the other hand, it will also decrease it by 3 if guessed wrong. It definitely means you have to switch things up all the time.

A lot of people say they don't want to switch offwnses because of their teams not being built for it, but if you catch a team off guard then the switch will perform just as well as your strongest tactic. Plus, right now it's still a new shiny toy and everyone is using it, but if you show you play kultiple things then it will keep people guessing as much and then you can play your strong tactic more.

As long as there's no asterisk beside my prodigious OD in the "Hall of Pointless Records Achieved in Losing Games But That We Still Hang Our Hat On Because We Ain't Winning Shit (Located in scenic Ames, Iowa)" (which, ironically enough, is actually in Topeka, Kansas. That whole Ames thing is part of the name). Generally I tend to think that people heavily overreact to any little change and people as a whole are just paranoid and senseless, but I'm kind of with you on the GDP. 10% is really, really strong, especially for a team like mine that has good defense spread out everywhere and a whole lot of mediocre offense. On the other hand, I suppose it has made me run LI a little more than I might otherwise have (and my game with you in the first half was going to be a test to see how it would work against a good inside team, until you went and failed to show up).
