Juice I answer for Som, for sure he will let you know his opinion later

Some posts sounds "aggressive" but think that day traders or anti day traders, who is writing here wants that BB will have a gloriousus future And sincerely this game is very well done even if really young, for this reason we don't want to lose interest to play here for a matter that could be easily solved (and partially it's already solved). In every posts where is written "I'll leave this game" there is always written an "IF" ;)

I can understand that...sometimes I forget that English isn't the 1st language for a lot of our users, and something that wasn't meant to be so aggressive can come across that way.

I am not comparing me nor any one else to him, and if you tried to read and understand what I wrote instead of getting defensive you would see that.

You might not agree with what I believe as the best diercetion for BB to go, but that doesn't mean that you deliberatly (I really hope that it is because otherwise you scare me a lot) must missunderstand what I am wirting.

Think about this scenario: What if you where against some part of the BB design and thought it spoiled the over all game experience. Which measures would you take to try to change this:

A) Try to discuss this topic on the conference and tell people why you feel that it ruins the game experience, and hoping that the debate will influence the BBs

B ) quit the game, beacuse taht's what "doers" do acccording to you

C) Just do nothing, beacuse "doers" don't complain

D) Sometinhg else, but I don't know what...

I would pretty much guess that you would go for A), because I do not really believe that you think that and C) are the action of doers (even though it seams to be what you are saying), or D (in this case it would be interesting to see you getting constructive and say what type of action you would take).

D) I would do something else.

I would first try to think of a solution which would seem most fair in my opinion. After that I would post them in the suggestions forum as that is the place to write down your suggestions to alter the game.

I just don't believe in sensless complaining and I prefer to come up solutions instead.

I will make an apology to you and other oppositioners as I've been pretty fierce in words towards everyone. So I'm sorry for the way I sometimes write down my thoughts (The content I stand behind, but the package could be more subtle).

The reason I did get annoyed about the Mandela comment as looked like an insult to my person not understanding someone like Mandela and the great things he accomplished...

I think I'll leave it at this.

Happy Holidays everyone,

Kind regards,

Floppzzy

You are absolutely correct, and I would like to apologize for using such a poor choice of words. I'm sorry. Further I sincerely wish the makers of this game the best of luck getting this off the ground. So far, they are doing an amazing job.

I guess the reason I was so rude is that I am so tired of profit-driven entities in the real world and have been looking for something where that element is not involved. Then I found this- an internet based sim game (I have played sim games without the compuers since card games like Fast Break) about basketball, a game I have played and been around for over 30 years.I really liked the concept of having a hoop team out in the fields of Thailand where we win and add more seats to our stadium and get better. Then drafting young players. Then the transfer list came up.

The transfer list is something that isn't present in American basketball. It might be in European leagues, I don't know. Players are traded for other players, not bought. But for a lot of people, playing the market and being a wily GM is what is fun. For me it is not, although if I had a young stud and got rid of him for a ton of dough I would be happy I suppose. Doing it as your primary acitvity on BuzzerBeater seems out of step with the ethic of the game. Or at least how I see the game.

Obviously my opinion of such matters is miniscule compared to the amount of time and effort the creators of this game have spent making this forum, this game, this apology even possible. So, please accept my apology and I really do wish you the best of luck.

Nobody has a problem with people making profit from trades. What we have a problem with is players who trade absurd numbers of players for profit because we simply do not have the time to do so ourselves.

This removes almost all strategy but trading from the game and makes the game boring, because quite frankly, there are better economic simulators out there if this is what you want. What we want is a basketball game with an economic factor.

Profiting from trades is realistic. Profiting from dozens of trades in one season is not.

There are two reasonable solutions, and both are quite simple. Either a cap on the number of trades allowed (either per week or per season) or a cap on the size of your roster. Either would eliminate excessive trading but would still allow for plenty of opportunity for people to profit on trades, just not to point of it becoming the only way to succeed at the game. With either or both of these restrictions in place I don't even see the need for taxes on trades.

Capping Rosters and enforcing maximum amount of trades must be a walk in the park compared to some of the programmnng that must go on behind the scenes...

this thread has dragged on (i am partly to blame!) a fair few of us have had their say... so far a 20% tax has been imposed and if the BB creators agreed and wanted to introduce the above then im sure it would be introduced fairly quickly...

so why dont we iron out what everyone believes to be a reasonable amount of trades they would be happy accepting others make and a maximum size roster.

I'll start... i see no reason (other than if you are a specialist stamina trainer or FT trainer and even then I'd question if it were profitable) to have more than 25 people on a roster.

I would say that in season 1 as you are shuffling your team maybe t5 transfers would be sufficient approx 5 per week, and then maybe maximum 3 per week once you have played a full season.

Ok, as I have presented suggestions earlier on in this thread I can conclude that you have not read my posts or forgot about them. (at least you indicate that you do not hink I have presented suggestions as you suggest action D)

People have also asked why we think that DT should be limited, and I have then tried explained why I think so. I think this is fair.

If this is the wrong thread for debating this I prefer that a MOD tells me that, but that seams more like a formal issue rather than something vital for the discussion.

The reason I did get annoyed about the Mandela comment as looked like an insult to my person not understanding someone like Mandela and the great things he accomplished...
If you felt that I appologize that was not my intention, but saying tha "doers" don't complaint is pretty much wrong. The important thing is that they do not only complain on the problems they see, they also try to find solutions to the problems. As I said earlier on, I have had suggestions just as I have seen others do the same. Also trying to explain why we believe that the current situation is bad is important, because otherwise there is no point in changing direction.

the diffrence here is:

drugdealing is strictly forbidden by law.

Daytrading is not...

Also, there is no gain for others when drugs are dealt, with daytrading there is, a seller might get something of his player, just because daytraders are bidding against each other, while otherwise there might be only 1 manager bidding and getting him for 1000$.

I keep saying, it should be the seller who sets the prize. If he refuses to ask the money the player is worth, I don't see harm in buying him and selling him for more...

It would be VERY easy to forbid daytrading, and even without using all kinds of methods. No taxes, no fees, no restriction on transfers, nothing.
Only 1 solution: put in the rules it is forbidden, and if you get caught you will get sanctioned by loosing your team.
Everyone can see the tradinglists of teams, so a daytrader is easely caught...
Why do they not forbid it.......
maybe since we DO need daytraders. ;)

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

Can a bot team put a price on a player??? No... Daytraders buy mostly from who??? From bots...

So, BBs, put a decent price on a players released from bots, so the daytraders wouldn't have to do their holy mission of saving BuzzerBeater...
