ABBL Draft Sucks Again

I had 122 points and seeing as the best guys were drafted in the second round this season I thought I would do some drafting. What a pile of rubbish! Mllama will be so upset. There is yet again no five ball potential 18 year olds at all in the draft. It will be like in my tanking season when the best player in the draft will be a perennial allstar. I have checked every three ball skill or higher 18 year old and every five ball skill 19 year old and there is nothing.

So the prize in this year's ABBL draft is likely to be a short center with atrocious OD and low potential. Perhaps he would like a low potential 19 year old center with great starting skills?

I would think it is scripted to balance the leagues but I know it is random. I was just hoping to be able to draft someone I can train myself but with almost all five ball skill players having two or less potenial, only a couple of four/four players I will be likely getting a three/three for my efforts. If it wasn't so hard to get an Aussie trainee it wouldn't matter but this season I bid $800,000-$1,200,000 on five different trainees none of which was worth nearly that much and still lost out in every case.

I haven't trained a foreigner for seasons but it looks like with this pathetic draft and the incredible inflated prices for Australian talent that I need to either throw away a fortune or look overseas.

During the last 3 seasons Ive brought 3 Aussie HOF trainees for a total price of 4.5 mill and was losing bidder on Guest when ShanMag topped my 3mill plus bid.

No doubt prices were up a bit this season.

Will Williams who I brought not so long ago cost me 2 mill after Mllama pushed my hand.

I doubt if he was half as good as Guest but thankfully he's had 7 pops so far this season and I reckon might be an outside chance of playing some games for the Aussie Under 21s next season as a 20 year old.

Id start buying some draft points for next season only I reckon Avalon Jets well and truly has my measure

Not sure that id get my 4.5 mill back if I put the 3 of them up for sale tomorrow, despite the big $ Ive spent training them

I've got this guy for free too, pretty much no scouting whatsoever...

Vladimir Radak (27605651).

Not bad for a 30th pick. Watch out for him in 5 seasons time.

Doesnt look too bad at all.

Privilages of having the GM button?

I wish I could have drafted someone decent rather than having to buy trainees.

I Have trained Jump shot for I reckon the first time since I recruited Ryder who is now 20 yo.

Am hoping for a couple of pops from him tonight.

Have you scouted all players, or only the three ball or higher players?

Could there be some five star players in the one and two ball 18 year olds?

It is always possible but I have only ever seen one they strongly tend to not have potential more than one higher than ball skills, there are exceptions but as I said incredibly rare and having examined every draft in India for four seasons I think I have looked at a lot more drafts than most players so have a fair idea. That player of Koop's he got 30th pick last draft would be top three again this season but I don't see anyone like him lasting long this time.

So the initial ball ratings you get before doing any scouting can still give you some kind of indication of the quality of a player? I just assumed they were totally random?

No as far as I can see the grey balls are worthless. It is the skill balls that seem to serve as a sort of potential soft cap.

There is a 5/4 18 yo, that's the best I can see...
