Yes the 18 year old has better game shape, but are you worried about injuries? I was told that game shape doesn't make a difference, because any one can get injured. I'm wondering why would you be concerend about game shape?

I'm not worried about injuries. However, a player with proficient GS is usually quite a bit better than an equivalent player with respectable GS. For comparable players, I would go with DMI to determine who should start - it usually gives a good indication just how much the skills are boosted.

DMI is really useless when determining who is "the better player" for players who have vastly different skillsets though - it's a really rough measure. But when one is just a stronger, but out of shape version of the other, GS can help you determine who is stronger right now.

Or you could do the smart thing and play player A however many minutes he needs to improve his gameshape for the future. If that means starting him, start him, if not, then don't start him. Simple

I thought people don't underestimate game shape that much. By reading previous posts, I think I'm wrong.

Game shape is what matter the MOST in BB imo. Right after that, it's enthusiasm and choice of correct tactics.

I'd start the B player without any thinking.

Oh, and people also underestimate free throws. Both have it atawful, but B has better game shape; who do you think will miss more FTs?
