WELL,.....MIRACLE!!!!
The Mountain Eagles get their first scrimmage win against a D4 team-RAINES. It was a very exciting matchup with back-and forth action. Three buzzerbeaters. Clutch shots. Some say it was as exciting as a Cup match.Five players with 10+ points. Four of them with 25+ points. Deikis coming in with almost a triple-double. Oh, and the Mountain Eagles had to do it with out and injured James Coleman, fouled out Tivadar Revfi, 4-foul Esen Rabi, 5 to then fouled out Timothy Kruger, non-scoring Jenkins and Koskinas, and with basically only 3 players. Deikis was the player of the game with 27 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assist, a rating of 10.5, and a matchup effecicy rating of 140.0! That is nearly impossible! We spoke to him." Well, I just gave the rock to someone who was open, was at the right place at the right time for rebounding, and shot well. All in all, a day's well work." When the Mountain Eagles were down 10 with about 6 minutes left, everyone thought it was over. They started heading for the door. But then, they started coming back. They were able to get crucial free throws by Koskinas and Rabi. Then, Deikis took over and gave them the lead with 3 minutes left. The coach said, " This shows that we can beat higher league teams. This shows that we never give up, even at the toughest times. This shows that we are serious. This shows a lot of things about us that people don't even know. We battled with the assurance of luck and pride. We played for the team. Then that explains that if we probably fought against the dough boys again, we'll probably beat them." Kruger, with 25 points, said, "I did what I'm supposed to do. Now I have to transfer it to the REAL court." Now the Eagles are expected to have a blowout with the Oklahoma Clippers. They say they want to make it to 50+ point differential, by the end of the game. But now they got a bigger problem; James Coleman is injured for the week. That means he won't be able to play till next Saturday( After this Saturday). Now they don't know if they should buy another center or just ride with Penagos. " I can handle it. It's just 24 extra minutes a week. One week shouldn't hurt." Penagos replied. Stay tuned to hear more about the James Coleman Injury on The Eagle. This is Matt Davis reporting for The Eagle.
