We’re also planning a couple of changes next season which are worth mentioning now. {1} The big one is that the promotion bonuses will be increased! We cannot disclose the exact numbers yet, but the new bonuses will help promoting teams survive in their new leagues. {2} Also, a new “luxury/hoarding tax” is being considered. Teams that have amassed extremely large sums of money will be taxed to disincentivize hoarding. More details to come next season.
I think those are both excellent steps. Hopefully the money taken out of the game by taxing the hoarders will be far more more than the money introduced by the bonuses. If the net result is another increase in the money in the game, it will be just another step backwards, taking us still farther toward inflation of an interplanetary scale. "Next season" has a good sound to it, too.

I am interested to hear why people think the new taxes, along with the change in FA's, will cause inflation. Money out of the game and more players in the game will obviously NOT cause inflation, quite the opposite. Of course, hoarders dumping vast sums into the economy will disrupt the game intolerably, but I suspect Marin is smart enough to prevent that, (even though he wants more money and fewer players in the game to "reward" training, which still seems unchanged no matter how badly it needs reform.)

I suppose we should all hope that the somewhat vague description of the FA change is not a repeat of last season, when it sounded so promising that there would be a better supply of FA's only to find out later the announcement was misleading and FA's were actually reduced.

As an expert in economics, business and markets with almost 20 years of professional experience, i'm laughing about this.
Unbelievable!
There are several ways to stimulate training, the economy and to regulate the market, but the errors in those fields are succeeding season after season.
The spirit of Mark, Charles and Forrest always was: "there are several ways to play the game, several ways to succeed and several ways do enjoy the game".
The road taken some seasons ago will drive us to only one way to play the game, one way to succeed with only a few enjoying the game.
It's a pity.

That's it.
I'm in first division. If I want to sell everybody and start training 3/6 players from scratch to have a more personnalized team, it will take something like 5 seasons to make them a bit useful. But during this time, I will have to pay taxes because I want to train my own players and don't want to lose money before they are efficient ?

If I lose motivation during a few seasons and want to train only until it comes back, i am penalized ? that's the good way to keep people in game

There are less and less players on the market, less and less teams that train players. And we will tax these teams.

The consequences are quite simple :
- we tax teams that train
--> These teams will disappear or stop training
--> Less players on the market
--> but more money forced to be spent
--> huge inflation

All of these changes are going to increase inflation. This proposed tax will force tankers to spend money. Giving promotees more money will put more money in the economy. Yet, since players over 60k aren't being made free agents we will see the player pool decrease and inflation increase once again. Prices will increase across all price levels.

My other concern with the tax is that if I sell my team at the end of the season there should be some type of grace period before the tax goes into affect so managers can buy replacements.

It also seems to me that the changes made this season were made to placate one user who had nothing better to do over the last couple of years then to write long complaining posts that no one bothers to read anymore, yet other common sense suggestions that seem to have a broad consensus in the BB community are ignored.

"The spirit of Mark, Charles and Forrest always was: "there are several ways to play the game, several ways to succeed and several ways do enjoy the game".

This statement by Ziad is pretty spot on. The way I see the game nowadays is its restricting managers to play a certain type of game and reducing their options. No matter how you try to limit what teams can do team managers will still find a new ways to beat the system. IMHO rather than trying to restrict expand the ways for teams to compete.

I've played this game for more than 3 years already bought supporter every year until last season because I got tired of the devs changing the system so too often nowadays that severely restricts managers from trying to grow their teams how they want it.

Looking at the TL prices one can say how much the changes in game have affected prices making it really hard for newer teams to compete. Instead of newer teams having options having the chance to get better players so that they can compete faster game is making it harder for them nowadays because of the FA rules before. Sometimes I don't get why trying to fix a certain small portion of the game (top division problems and NT) is affecting the lower division teams instead.
