I don't use "sit players". Let 'em play, follow depth chart - strictly. Yet time, and time again - with no other option on the bench other than to play a player out of position, my coach breaks the DC. Hell, every player on the line-up has a role to play in the game - yet he STILL goes outside the DC.

If I could fire him, I would.

That's strange. I've never seen that happen yet. I only get out of position if a guy fouls out/gets into foul trouble on sit and he is the only player at his position on the chart.

I can assure you, it happens frequently - and not just to me.

No players set in reserve spot.

Not trying to win by any particular margin at all... and regardless of margin, the instruction isn't working as is currently written.

Substitutions: Strictly Follow Depth Chart
- it doesn't.

There has been no rhyme or reason to when the substitutions occur. Now - in all fairness, it rarely happens to a point where it ruins a training week, but it often happens for 1-2 minutes (with no reason), and on the odd occasion, it's screwed my training up (with no reason) - I regard that as being 5+ minutes.

It's happened...
- in close games.
- in games where I'm winning by heaps and only have 2 guys on the bench.
- in games where I'm getting my ass kicked, and only have 2 players on the bench.

I'd just prefer it didn't say 'Strictly Follow Depth Chart'... because that's a misnomer.

Blank lineup with LCD was the perfect setting, wasn't it?

I have no problems with the substitution patterns, but I am balling with a 5 man roster.

Well look: I think Strictly should be the most flexible system. That means the inputs of the manager should be followed even when they defy logic. So, if you say that a backup should receive 10 minutes then the coach should substitute AS IF that player was at the correct relative level to play that number of minutes, irrespective if he's much better or worse than that. It does not mean the guy will receive exactly 10, but close enough.

If you LCD then the margin of error should be larger, but the coach should decide efficiently based on his own judgement.
