Taken a bit of a risk today. Either that's a good thing or a really really terrible thing. We shall see. The game should at least be fun on some level today.

I feel we need a better points difference to help us get a home draw in at least the last 32 so I've gone for tactics that I think will help us to do that. It may not work, but on balance, I think the risk is worth it.

I'm posting this before the game so that if it does go right, I can gloat afterwards ;)

unless if BB has some bug today, it looks as tho you've earned yourself a forfait from Libanon. certainly is a nice (and lucky) way to pad your goaldifference tho.

My team is listed and Lebanon's isn't, so I assume its a forfeit. I was hoping for more than 50 so I'm not going to celebrate padding the difference.

I hate forfeits.

Now that the season is drawing to a close, I admit that I was lying about the whole gdp thing in the hope that opposition coaches might be reading here and then be misinformed.

I now intend to gdp in every game coming up

This is somewhat important so replies would be appreciated, though I understand a lot of people leave their drafts till later in the season, and of course drafts could be considered a private matter, since you're best off keeping some things secret.

However, in the interests of the U21s and the NT in general I'd just like to know if anyone has scouted yet and if so, can they report here, without revealing details, what they're seeing in regards to improved players in the mid areas of the draft. By mid areas I mean below the top players, and this is probably quite a wide range, so I don't just mean the middle round.

Unfortunately its unlikely I'll be scouting the draft this season so I can't really check this for myself.

I've just done a "group demonstration" in my Utopian draft (I'll be drafting 15th most likely, so spending even those points was probably a waste)

Of the 19 players, 14 have come back with 5 balls, and 4 others with 4 balls. The exception being one 2 baller. So it looks like the starting primary skills of players have gone up at least? I can't say I notice their box scores reflecting this though, so I don't know if those have been changed at all, but then logically if all of the players skills have gone up I guess the box scores on average will look the same as before.

I've done a scouting combine and on ball defence in the EBBL, but I don't really want to publicise anything I've found in that draft. Feel free to PM me if you think you can learn anything from those results though.

I think I may have been wrong to ask really. But if people feel safer posting results from Utopia, those will do. I don't really want specifics, just a general idea.

Posting results from Utopia is a good idea.

I have a ton of scouting points but i'm doing better than I thought so I don't know i I'm going to use them. If I do, I'll let you know (Unless you are quitting the game, in which case, what's the point?)

I'm sure anything posted here will be useful to whoever takes over, and of course to Woody, or whoever follows him. And I'm likely to post anything concrete once its clear how much has changed. If it is clear. It might even be clearer after the draft.

I'm not likely to leave the game soon. Though I'd certainly like to post less than I have this season.

Not much happened yesterday. The team ranked 22 in the world came to our house, made extra effort, attempted to predict our tactics, presumably with the expectation of victory, and went home with their tail between their legs.

I choose the tactics first, then the lineup which best fits, (if there's not a lineup to fit, I use a different tactic) and consequently our ratings may lead opponents to underestimate us. Good. I hope it continues.

Yesterday was our best performance of the season. The game went almost perfectly from our point of view, everything I expected pretty much was what happened, which isn't always the case. Simply put, we performed better than Finland in almost every area of the game.

Offensively only Lewis didn't shoot well, but he was in for his passing and his 8 assists meant he did his job. Corral and Duffie dominated the boards, 13 ORs between them is an excellent effort, and Lewis again with 3 steals and De Simone with 3 blocks contributed to 8 team steals and 8 blocks.

One of the most important stats to me, often overlooked is turnovers. At this level of the game getting through a whole game and comitting only 3 turnovers is almost unbelievable. And not a single player had 2.

So, our best performance of the season, our best ratings and we move on to 7-0 with a very nice points difference and we've qualified comfortably.

77% approval rating. Someone's having a laugh.
