Luck of the Irish run out: Panthers defeat Ireland, 108-40

Not even Saint Patrick can help Ireland against the might of the Pilipinas Panthers.

Paul Emery led the charge with 18 points for team Philippines, as five other players finished with double digit scoring. "We knew it was going to be a long time for the Irish, when they scored only 4 points by the end of the first quarter," said Emery. Coach Morwood, on the other hand, wants to make sure everyone is focused. "We need to win our remaining games and have a good point differential, so we have a chance in getting in the top 16 teams (before the knockout stage starts), the naturalized coach said.

The Panthers face Nigeria in their next game.

Panthers clobber Nigeria, 113-67

Raymund Duraliza led a balanced scoring game, as the Pilipinas Panthers continue their run in the National Tournament Seeding Game, beating Nigeria, 113-67. "We felt good today, and look forward to continue our run against the Canadians on March 7," Coach Morwood said after the game.

Duraliza finished the game with 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists in 24 minutes of action. No Panthers player played more than 26 minutes during the game. Six other Panthers players score in double digits.

The Panthers are scheduled to play against Canada. "It is different, playing against your home country," Morwood said.

NT Press Release-
Panthers lose against Canada, 68-83

Poor shooting proved to be too much for the Pilipinas Panthers, losing against Canada, 83-68, at the Staples Center, in downtown Canada.

The Panthers finished the game with a poor 32% from the field, including an atrocious 13% (2/16) from behind the arc. "This was not the outcome we expected," Coach Morwood simply said after the game.

James Mabaquiao proved to be Panthers' lone star in the game, finishing with 13 points on 6/7 shooting. The same cannot be said, however, for the rest of the roster. The Pilipinas starting five finished with a poor 27% clip (19/71).

The loss is key in the Panthers' chances in advancing to the final 32. "We cannot afford to lose another game. We need to win our last two assignments, and win big (vs Saudi Arabia and Sweden)," Morwood said via text message, when asked to comment on their chances in making it to the next round.

u did a helluva job, goodluck on your next journey in life =)

Someone once told me I needed to face fear to get over it, and I thought well why not take a step further and cut my fear into little pieces then set my fear on fire then throw the hot ash of my fear into a lake and then poison the lake. Simple!
