BTW, glad to represent III.10 in the Cup round of 64 along with Dallas Rythm. While we gain extra money and experience for out players, it sometimes can cause game shape and player training to take a back seat.

Good luck in the cup. I am not trying to win this year and only kept a few decent players because I was under a fan revolt from tanking last season. I have a ton of money so the tax is very heavy and takes forever to get out from. So I have to win enough to get through, but I won't be a factor in the playoffs. My main goal is training a few players and any wins are bonus. Next year I may buy a couple studs and go for it. I love training pops and get the greatest joy from those vs winning basically. Over time from tanking, I accumulated a lot of money and it would be tough to replicate that today with all the new rules since (fan revolt, for example).

YEARS ago, like 20 seasons ago, I was in D IV and had really good team, but lost on playoffs, I sold all my good players, kept salary floor by buying a bunch of $2,000 players, I tanked all the way down and made a fortune. I still have most of that money. But with overextension tax it is hard (for me anyway) to have superior coach, players good enough to promote and not burn through tons of cash.
So I just muddle along.
I maybe need to rethink my entire "business model".

It will be interesting to see how "Exhaustion" affects the game. That is the only reason I am keeping some of my $15K backups. One would think alot of managers next season will be adding these players....and thus overextension becomes more of a problem!?

I've talked to a few NBBA managers and the consensus is that you need a ton of extra money in order to make a run to win the league title or the cup. Because you will be losing money every week trying to retain all those high salaried players (and pay overextension tax).

So the strategy of tanking for a few seasons, saving enough money to make a run is definitely a viable one. But I'm sure those tanking years are not very fun. Buzzerbeater is definitely an economic game at the end of the day.

I think the overextention tax should be lessened. Yes. If someone tanks, then spends TONS of money on salaries. Then tax them.

However I have always thought that perhaps a better way to have parity is to have Excellent draft pools for lower levels V and IV, very good for III, Good for II and average for NBBA.....or maybe 5 rounds of draftees for lower divisions, and the number decresses the higher the league.

Hey everyone,

I am late to the party. I had have some life things that have kept me from being fully involved. Been playing for quite some time now, still learning the systems in a sense. Hope for a great rest of the season!

Got to take care of real life things first! Hope whatever situation you had is taken care of and that you are "good to go".

Better late than never.

Yes, this is a finance game for sure. I have enough money to get to NBBA (easily) and have been to DII several times. I don't have the skill or the desire to win in the NBBA. I can admit that. What I do love is waking up Friday morning to see those training pops. That and I have always sort of wanted to see how the app shakes out. I have tried to quit many times but my friend talks me out of it ...and then when he wanted to quit, I would talk him out of it. Been here since like season 7 or 8 or something. I believe I have the most money you can have without being taxed, so frankly, I am rich on this game. But for what? Just been bored for many seasons now. I remember when it was over 50,000 active users and has been dying off ever since. I do hope the game grows again at some point. Until then ...I am Scrooge McDuck. Just some cheap asshole who trains players for a few years, sells, and rinse/repeat.

Yeah I feel you, my first go-around I started at season 10 and then quit around season 30. Started up again a couple of seasons ago. Tough game to quit.

If you have the money and no desire to grind to higher leagues, you should grab a couple of high priority National Team trainees. I know the community is always looking for responsible owners who have cash to buy those guys and keep them US-owned. In my opinion, seeing one of your trainees play for the NT is about as exciting as promoting to a new division.

There is also a lot of BB discussion on the Discord chat server. Always open to new faces. The US-specific channels are hidden until you verify with one of the mods.

I have about $13 million stashed away. I could buy my way to DII, but that is about all.
