I don't really understand your point. I meant when you are not setting the line up in the day of the match, it could be often beneficial to include a player with 1 week injury. Beacuse injuries are counted in 7-13 days per week. It is a gamble to some extent but it is worth it epecially if the injured player is good one. And it sometimes helps to have more reserves for a position because another injury to player at the same position could occur (for example if you have an injured pg which could be heatlhy day by day, you should dressed him for a match because another pg could be injured in the match, like this
three players which you usually rotate at PG, others are nto so suited. Called A,B and C.
A is injured. It is more than 7 days from his injury, so he could be healthy soon enough.
B will start.
C will back up him (or reserve)
A will be dressed as a reserve (or back up).
B is injured 5 minutes into game. If you were lucky not only C but also A is ready to step up. If not C has to play major minutes (with foul trouble, tireness from low stamina, even injury can happen and inferior player will come to place).

You can dress up recoverin player for a SC which make sense. Especially when your neede players already have enough minutes for game shape and training; but not all of them. It could be useful to dress only plaqyers you need to play and in that way if the injured one don't recover quickly enough and would be injured by the time of the match, a lucky fan comes into play. I strongly believe you shouldn't be punished by anything (fans included) for this. Especially if you still have at least five player on other positions.
