SaungHninPwint vs Sugar Ray

Regular Season game 1: SaungHninPwint 100 - Sugar Ray 80

SaungHninPwint, another team predicted to go to the finals, goes up against first time playoff team Sugar Ray, who has been quietly building up his roster.

SaungHninPwint

PPG: 115.3(1st), RPG: 54.0(2nd), APG: 27.6(2nd), BlkPG:9.7(1st)
Mo XiaoChong: 22.2mpg, 13.2ppg, 3.9apg, 90.2% FT%, Selected for Season 20 all-star game

Early before even the season started, before even Sugar Ray franchise was created, SaungHninPwint(SHP) declared "SBBL or bust" to all his fans, SG managers and rivals alike. After selling alot of players, even all-star Guzman Fernández, and buying other players, tinkering and tweaking with his roster, SHP arrived to the playoffs with this squad that he thinks can win it all. Sugar Ray stands in his way and frankly this just might be the most lopsided win of all playoff games. Almost every player in SHP outclasses Sugar Ray's. Recently acquired C, Bernhold Mosich, might be put to test against Sugar Ray. Still there might be an interesting matchup between SHP's Mo Xiaochong and Sugar Ray's Zhuang Shirong. Both are scoring machines that can shoot from any range and finish at the rim. In summary, SHP will very likely win this playoff match unless something extreme happens and Xosé Barro will have time to recover from his injury and be ready for his more important conference finals match against the winners of NEWBak Ku Teh Kings and Final Fantasy XIII.

Sugar Ray

PPG: 75.0(11th), RPG: 40.0(12th), APG: 18.3(11th), ORPG: 10.1(8th)
Zhuang Shirong: 40.5mpg, 28.2ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.9apg, averages 51.3pts in last 6 games for Sugar Ray

Fans are thrilled that their new team Sugar Ray made the playoffs in their 1st season after their franchise was created, even when they ended with a 9-13 record. However, once reality sets in, they will probably realise nothing short of a miracle and 2 lucky fans playing for SHP will be needed to win their very 1st playoff game. SHP's Liad Saglovic, Mo XiaoChong, Racimir Opoka and many other SHP players will not, or could not be contained by Sugar Ray's squad 1-1. Double teaming might be the best option but Sugar Ray couldnt possibly double team every position for SHP unless he fields 10 players on the court instead of 5. Sugar Ray's lone bright star, scoring machine Zhuang Shirong, will be looking to score every possession hopefully keeping the game close and final score respectable. But stats from the team averages still show its going to be a monumental task for Shirong to do that. SHP will probably conduct a schooling session for Sugar Ray and hopefully this game gives all their players, Sugar Ray's coaches and GM valuable experience for possible future playoffs to come.

NEWBak Ku Teh Kings vs Final Fantasy XIII

Regular Season game 1: NEWBak Ku Teh Kings 101- Final Fantasy XIII 80
Regular Season game 2: NEWBak Ku Teh Kings 70- Final Fantasy XIII 83

NEWBak Ku Teh Kings and rival Final Fantasy XIII are meeting for the 3rd time in the first round of the playoffs for the last 4 seasons. Don't be surprised if you see U21 and National team coaches in attendance for the U21 teammates matchup, Dong Tian Kwang vs Lim Kim Pin.

NEWBak Ku Teh Kings

PPG: 108.2(3rd), RPG: 50.5(5th), APG: 28.7(1st), FG%: 55.5%(1st)
Dong Tian Kwang: 41.8mpg, 19.9ppg, 17.9rpg, 1.7 blkpg, Part of Singapore's U21 team

The NEWBak Ku Teh Kings have been eliminated from all their playoff games in the 1st round, twice by Final Fantasy XIII once by SHP. This time they hope to advance past the 1st round and they have put themselves in good position by acquiring U21 squad C, Dong Tian Kwang(DTK). DTK brings that additional rebounding skill, always an Achilles Heel for the King's as a team, and also the defensive presence in the paint. Many guards will be reluctant to drive into the paint with DTK anchoring the middle and facing him and his 1.7Blkpg. The NEWBak Ku Teh Kings will be using this to force Final Fantasy XIII's guards into shooting perimeter jumpers and turning them into a jump shooting team. Besides the Dong Tian Kwang vs Lim Kim Pin matchup, the Kings will also likely send Vitomil Wolf to guard Wong Jiemin (17.8ppg, 6th in league for scoring). Wolf will also have the task of setting up his teammates and making flashy passes(7.3 apg, 3rd in league) as he did all season long for the Kings. This game is also a good chance for young G-F Haji Abdullah, Sapian and Yeo Eng Heng to impress Singapore U21 and National coaches with their skills and decision making in an important playoff game. Fans hope that this season is the season for the Kings to finally advance.

Final Fantasy XIII

PPG: 82.3(9th), RPG: 42.1(8th), APG: 23.0(7th), SPG:10.0(3rd)
Lim Kim Pin: 41.7mpg, 18.9ppg, 9.3rpg, 4.3apg, Part of Singapore's U21 team

Final Fantasy XIII manager has declared a "rebuilding" status for the past few seasons including this one and this time it seems that Final Fantasy has really hit the "rebuilding" button. Final Fantasy XIII has dropped across the board in all his stats from one of the top few in pts, rebs, assists last season to the middle of the pack this season. Still, one cannot count Final Fantasy out in the playoffs. Last 2 playoff games they have beaten the Kings and even took a regular season game this season. Final Fantasy XIII will once again rely on Wong Jiemin, who played sensational in the last 3 games against the NEWBak Ku Teh Kings (average 19.2pts, 47.8% shooting against the Kings) and also versatile U21 F-C Lim Kim Pin. Lim Kim Pin can play all 3-5 position and will likely go up against fellow U21 teammate Dong Tian Kwang. Lim Kim Pin can possibly draw DTK away from the basket with his versatile play and good shooting range, which allows Final Fantasy XIII's guards to run into the paint with ease. Final Fantasy XIII can also capitalise on the inexperienced raising stars of the Kings(Haji Abdullah, Sapian, Eng Heng) to get them to commit silly fouls and poor plays. This might be the last game for Wong Jiemin wearing a Final Fantasy XIII uniform and we will be certain to see the best from him.

Relegation match #1 : juntion 9 vs Thunder SJ

While Pacific Storm and Lionheart Jaguar are sitting comfortably at no5 position, 4 other teams are battling in out in a best of 3 match to see who stays and who possibly might drop to div III. We wish all the teams the best for the upcoming matches.

1st of these relegation match is rising young team juntion 9 vs recently discovered computerised manager Thunder SJ.

Regular Season game 1: juntion 9 86 - Thunder SJ 30

juntion 9

PPG: 79.7(9th), RPG: 46.5(5th-tied with Hoop Magical & Bobbleheads), APG: 21.9(9th), ORPG: 13(3rd- tied with Flyer Sonic)
Aiantas Spiridon: 41.8mpg, 9.1ppg, 13.2rpg, 4.9apg, Only player in II.1 to be top 10 in both rebounds(5th) and assists(10th)

juntion 9 (not to be confused with junction 8) is a rising young team in the toughest conference(big 8) of the toughest league(II.1) in Singapore. Most managers would probably have melted under the pressure and quit after 3 weeks of losing 6 games straight by an average of 30 pts but not juntion 9. What doesn't kill makes you stronger truly applies to this team as he builds them up from scratch in a league full of powerhouses. Even though he finds himself in the relegation matches, it is a good platform to learn more about the game and his roster. Watch for juntion 9's big 3 Lucilo Maramag, Pablo Salazar Cabrera and Aiantas Spiridon step up their games for these important 2 matches. The big 3 account for more than half the team's scoring (56.6pts), more than 2/3 of rebounding (30.3 rebs) and more than half the team's assists (12.3 assists). The heart and soul of the team, Aiantas Spiridon, is the only player in II.1 to be top 10 in both rebs and assists. The big 3 will definately pave the way to victory for the relegation matches and fans of juntion 9 has only greats things to look forward to this season on.

Thunder SJ

PPG: 61.4(15th), RPG: 40.4(11th), APG: 14.4(13th), BlkPG: 3.2(16th)
Shatrunatp Singh: 41.8mpg, 9.4ppg, 10.7rpg, 1.2 BlkPG, 7th in league for rebound per game

Almost everything about Thunder SJ is a mystery except for their near bottom stat line. Even their manager was a mystery to everyone in II.1 until very recently he is finally uncovered to be a computer. This means the 18 players on Thunder SJ has been receiving orders and strategy from a robot. Still, through a robot manager and coach with hearts(if they have one) colder than steel, they made it to 6th place with a 4-18 record in great 8. Kwek Meng Loong is their top scorer averaging a abysmal 12.6ppg. Their lone bright star, Shatrunatp Singh, can rebound well but has a shooting range no longer than his arms. Still, like computerised robots- oh wait he is one, Thunder SJ will send his "A" team to march like machines into the basketball court for the relegation games. juntion 9's big 3 will have their own way in the game sending a message that they are to be respected in the league. Thunder SJ's fans, robots or not, are hoping for a real human manager to take over their team and bring them to possible glory. But for now, they will most likely be soundly defeated by juntion 9.

Relegation match #2: rajons team vs LastMenPlaying

no regular season game played between the 2 teams

The 2nd set of the relegation matches is between rajons team and new team LastMenPlaying. This is the 2nd straight season rajons team is in the relegation matches following the lost to da_pimp_united last season.

rajons team

PPG: 95.3(8th), RPG: 52.8(3rd), APG: 23.5(6th), ORPG: 14.1(1st)
Chung Wen Xin: 37.5mpg, 16.5ppg, 13.9rpg, 2.0blkpg, Have yet to miss a single game

rajons team find themselves in the relegation matches once again this season. Last season, rajons team lost in 2 games to da_pimp_united. The Singapore Basketball Association gave rajons team one more chance in II.1 and here they are again in the relegation but against a different team. rajons team have been steadily improving still and if there's one thing that the team is good at is rebounding. rajons team ranked 3rd in rebounding and 1st in offensive rebounding. Ironman Chung Wen Xin who has been with rajons team since season 16 and rebounding specialist Ang Ming Kwan(14.3rpg) will definately give the rebounding edge to rajons team. Still, they need to capitalise on the rebounds and put the ball in the hoop especially all those possible easy baskets after the offensive rebounds. rajons team top SG Javián Araujo is out for 1 week with a dislocated shoulder but they shouldn't miss him too much against the weaker SGs of LastMenPlaying. LastMenPlaying also has horrible interior defence, passing the ball inside to Chung Wen Xin and letting him work his magic is a very good idea.

LastMenPlaying

PPG: 61.7(12th), RPG: 34.1(16th), APG: 13.7(13th), ORPG: 9.0(16th)
Louis Anak Malam: 31.4mpg, 17.0ppg, 4.7 rpg, 5.7apg, Son of former basketball player Pasar Malam

LastMenPlaying is a newly created team few weeks ago and taking over team 57952's team record they found themselves in the 7th place with a 4-18 team record. However, it will be a tough matchup for them for the relegation matches. LastMenPlaying is dead last in rebounding, and they are going against a very good rebounding team. Therefore, LastMenPlaying must be as accurate as possible to cut down on the amount of rebounds rajons team can haul in. They also have to really box rajon's big men out to prevent offensive rebounds as there will be plenty due to rajons team's below average shooting percentage(43.6%). Chung Wen Xin might be too much for any single defender in LastMenPlaying so he should be doubled and let Ang Ming Kwan (9.5ppg) do the attacking instead with his weaker offensive skills. LastMenPlaying can also leave Huang Yonglin shoot jumpshots if he has the ball as he's shooting a poor 37.3%. But even with all these LastMenPlaying will have a very tough 2-3 games ahead of them.
