I've got this guy for free too, pretty much no scouting whatsoever...

Vladimir Radak (27605651).

Not bad for a 30th pick. Watch out for him in 5 seasons time.

Doesnt look too bad at all.

Privilages of having the GM button?

I wish I could have drafted someone decent rather than having to buy trainees.

I Have trained Jump shot for I reckon the first time since I recruited Ryder who is now 20 yo.

Am hoping for a couple of pops from him tonight.

Have you scouted all players, or only the three ball or higher players?

Could there be some five star players in the one and two ball 18 year olds?

It is always possible but I have only ever seen one they strongly tend to not have potential more than one higher than ball skills, there are exceptions but as I said incredibly rare and having examined every draft in India for four seasons I think I have looked at a lot more drafts than most players so have a fair idea. That player of Koop's he got 30th pick last draft would be top three again this season but I don't see anyone like him lasting long this time.

So the initial ball ratings you get before doing any scouting can still give you some kind of indication of the quality of a player? I just assumed they were totally random?

No as far as I can see the grey balls are worthless. It is the skill balls that seem to serve as a sort of potential soft cap.

There is a 5/4 18 yo, that's the best I can see...

The grey balls are definitely worthless. Sometimes a one grey ball can give 4 or 5 orange balls when you scout it.

ABBL draft looks like a norm again. Absolutely worthless. Only way you can get any good rookies from the ABBL is if your are lucky or named adam guns. =P Again I will save my scouting points.

9 more league games to go. Looks like the Great 8 is set in stone. abigfishy will have to win 6 of 9 games to catch up to slam! or urmummas to sneak into the 5th spot. In the Big 8, awesome, BLS and Park Bell Supercats are all fighting to avoid 6th spot.

Huge game tonight, Whitebeard hosting Pancakes. This will be a good chance for Pancakes to gauge his team against the benchmark of the ABBL so far.

I haven't done a huge amount of scouting yet - I forgot to put money into scouting at the start of the season ;)

I've done a bit though, only found 3 5 potential guys, and only the one I mentioned worth looking at at all.

The 5/4 guy is a SF though, and a pretty good height for a SF, so he may end up being ok.

I think you are geting potential and ball skills around the wrong way. A 5/4 is a five skills and four potential (superstar at best) whereas a 4/5 has worse starting skills but is at least a MVP and maybe an all time great. There are no five ball potential players in this draft unless you have been interviewing low skill 19 year olds or very low skill 18s.

The 5/4 SF may indeed be the best player in the draft, but that is the problem. If the best player in the entire draft has a starting salary of less than $3,500 and is a perennial allstar what do you think his market value will be? If you didn't mind the nationality you could get much better for less than $100,000. Certainly you can get a great player from a perennial allstar but at the moment I have run into capping issues with superstar potential players which really hurts. On the other hand he could be a well balanced superstar with all great skills and become a legend.
