Thought I would give BB another try after being away for two calendar years. Left in season six, I think.

I hope the game has improved since then, far too many holes and things that irked me at the time.

Unlike others, I never had major issues with the game engine.

What caused me to leave was a few things that I will check out over the coming weeks:

1) The contemptible 'Enthusiasm' rule.
2) The draft not bringing me good picks after I maxed out my spending. And, yes, I did win my league and get promoted to D III, so I picked last in each round.
3) A transfer market dominated by cash-rich coaches from new countries who had DIV I money but DIV VII brains.

I'm sure there were other annoyances, but that's the three that come to mind as I write.

Others may, and will, disagree with me, but all three still existing will mean I'll be out of here again after a season of testing.

1) Is still the same, but you can take advantage of it! (without this mutal TIE nonsence)
2) Tbh, you shouldnt get a good draft pick if you win the league, no matter how much you spend. The way to do it is to spend the minimum, or max 10k, and save the 30k+ a week (that's what? 480k you can put towards buying a good draftee the next season - and you can pick the skills)
3) The money system has changed, there is a lot more money out there to be had, perhaps the small counties still have more but then you're not competing against them anyway, you're rivals are in the same situation as you.)

At least there's not much DT now - i remember that being a big topic in season 6.

good luck and welcome back!

Thanks for the replies, they are helpful.

1) Is this explained anywhere? The Game Manual is silent on the new effects as far as I can tell. The manual doesn't even explain the red, blue and green numbers on the schedule screen. I think they are referring to Enthusiasm, but how? And why are the green ones five digits?

2) I could not disagree more. I'm not interested in 'fairness' I'm looking for a game that holds my interest. Developing players is my interest (winning, of course) If there is no way that I can win the league AND get more than one merely decent draft pick, then I am not going to be interested in playing. Selfish? Perhaps, but it is my leisure time and there many more games I can play.

3) Again, I disagree. I am competing against everyone in the transfer market. What I hated was losing out on a DIII or DIV caliber player to some one from the Berzerkistan first division who was not smart enough to realize he could afford better. Your comment about DT gives me hope this is better.
