Looks like we have some pretty good young players this season. Hope you guys train them.

Remember 48 minutes minimum EVERY week and try and reduce the amount above 48 minutes as much as possible so you can train other players in the same position. If you are perfect you can get 3 players with 48 minutes for each position being trained.

The less positions selected for training the more concentrated the training is and the faster these young bast**ds will be on the U21 team

G'day blokes do you think this guy could ever be good enough?

Tory Shaylor (13436902) Shooting Guard

Weekly salary: $ 6 206

DMI: 13700
Age: 18
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: respectable
Jump Shot: average Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: atrocious
Driving: awful Passing: awful
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: atrocious Free Throw: mediocre

Experience: atrocious

Yeah he is a 7' SG but me plan is train 1 on 1 until he pops than passing till he pops. By then I will have some more big guy trainees and be out of the cup so I will switch to single position C training. I hope he will eventually be a solid PF with reasonable outside skills. What do you all think? If there is any more small guy training I should do please let me know because I want to do all of that now while I don't have any other big guys to train.

The bad thing is the potential but if he is really balanced with all good skills across the board but none really sticking out too far his salary will stay reasonable.

Oh yeah, I have been a bit of a crap trainer in the past so any advice would be grouse. Do I need a level 6 trainer? Got level 4 now but don't want to buy a 5 if I am saving up for a 6.

And...should I lash out on a doctor. Got mimimal lev 1, I guess it would suck if he was injured for 4 weeks. Gotta decide where to spend my not so big pool of money if I want this digger to be a gun.

Sorry to ask so many dum questions but what do you blokes think would be better for him 1 on 1 for guards or 1 on 1 for forwards? Gonna go passing for guards this week.

He's got decent PF potential, and will be a great player for your team, but will never be good enough for the NT due to his potential.

Train his handling /passing 2-3 weeks a season and by the time he's 21, it should be at a reasonable level. Respectable OD for a PF is fine, with his height it's a pain to train anymore.

Regarding the trainer, personally I have a level 5 which I paid 900K for. I would say you don't need any higher, most people seem to prefer level 4 as it's the most cost effective.

For a doctor I use a level 3 doctor with massage specialty, who does a decent enough job. Injuries do happen during games and there's not much you can do about it, all you can do is reduce the time they're out.

I think One on One for guards would be fine this week too..

Its not a case of potential but more a case of his inside skills being a bit low to start off with. It will take half a season to get those skills up to what a decent C/PF should be at the start of the season. By then thats half a season's training gone and there are guys that are way ahead of him.

I disagree.

Yes, a little more potential would be nice but as we're seeing with so many other big men, most of them don't have the chance to reach their full potential because their wages get too high to be trained further.
I think his inside skills are fine as a starting point and his outside skills actually give him an advantage over most other big men. I'd say the training plan is a good one and would even suggest extending the One on One (or even just JumpShot training) and Passing training (with 1 position training) a little more than currently planned until the passing is at average/respectable and jumpshot is at proficient. Half a season should do it.

Then you'll be able to switch to the big man training and you'll probably have one of the better PFs in the country by the time he's nearly 22.

You'll be able to play him very effectively in outside tactics as well as inside tactics and he should basically be a nightmare for anyone trying to guard him.

I'd say he's too far behind at this stage. Nice developing player but not NT material.

I own the #8 player on that list, I'm training him as a SF. He doesn't have enough potential for the NT, could he make it into the U21 team? I noticed the junior team only has 1 small forward, with a fairly low salary.

Ding.

The U21 team is in the process of being picked so there will be a few changes. Star potential is fairly low but theres usually a lack of genuine SF's so if he is trained well he could have a chance when he is 20 or 21.
